The Andhra Pradesh Open University renamed as Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), in 1991. With a wide network of 206 study centers spread throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh, the University has for its motto "Education at Your Doorstep". The University, the first of its kind in the Country was brought into being through an act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature in August,1982.  Its principal aim is to provide educational opportunities to all those who wish to pursue higher studies and acquire Degrees and Diplomas.
Its Provided multi-media teaching-learning approach which broadly comprises self-learning print material, supported by audio, video lessons and regular broadcast of lessons through All India Radio. From November, 1999 the University started Telecast of Video lessons through Doordarshan Regional Channel.

Application Processes

Candidates have to register at www.braouonline.in only or through the direct link given below and pay the fee of Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred only) by Debit/Credit card through university portal OR pay an amount of Rs.435/- at any TS /AP Online Franchise Centre and obtain the receipt.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
2. Candidates should have passed with at least 50% of marks either B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A./ B.Sc.(Home Science)/BBM and/or the Masters Degree in Commerce/Social Sciences/ Humanities/Sciences at the time of submitting the application for B.Ed. Entrance Test.3. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks in B.E/B.Tech. with Science/ Mathematics as one of the subjects or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission into the programme. However the candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PH should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
4. Candidates appearing for final year examination in the Qualifying Examination (Bachelor or a Higher Degree) can also apply. But they will be required to submit the marks memo and p ass certificate at the time of Admission Counselling.
5. The candidate must also fulfil the above conditions together with 4 OR 5 of the following
Trained in-service teachers in elementary education
6. Candidates who have completed NCTE recognition teacher education programme through face-to-face mode (TTC/D.Ed./D.EI.Ed./B.EI.Ed./TPT/HPT/UPT/ B.P.Ed./D.P.Ed. – Qualification is must)
7. The reservation for SC/ST/BC/PH categories shall be as per the rules in force.

Age limit

Candidate should have completed 21 years as on 01 July 2016. No upper age limit.

Exam Instruction

1. The Question paper of the Entrance will have 3 parts for 100 marks with 100 objective type (Multiple Choice) questions and is of 2 hours duration.
2. Candidates are expected in the examination hall by 10.00 AM.
Part-A : General English Comprehension – 25 Marks
Part-B :  Proficiency in Telugu – 25 Marks
Part-C :  General Mental Ability – 50 Marks

Note: Candidate will be not allow to enter in the examination hall after 10.AM.

Syllabus for Entrance Test

Syllabus for the subjects under Part – I, and Part – II of the Entrance Test is as follows.

Part – I: General English Comprehension
          Reading Comprehension
         Correction of Sentences, Articles, Prepositions, Tenses, Spelling
         Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms
         Transformation of Sentences – Simple, Compound and Complex
         Voices – Direct Speech and Indirect Speech

Part – II: General Mental Ability
          Logical & Analytical Reasoning
          Verbal & Abstract Reasoning

Medium of Entrance Test

The question paper, except General English section, will be in Telugu.

Note: The Qualifying mark in the B.Ed. Entrance Test for all candidates, except SC/ST, is 35. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities ranking will be extended below the 
qualifying mark.
