An Act of Parliament in 1956 established the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi), as an autonomous institution of national importance and defined its objectives and functions.All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act are recognized medical qualifications for the purpose of the Indian Medical Council Act and notwithstanding anything contained therein, are deemed to be included in the first schedule of that Act, entitling the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from the recognized Universities of India.

A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination is required to submit his/her application in the prescribed format available online with the Prospectus on www.aiimsexams.org. The cost of Registration Form includes the fee for entrance examination which is non-refundable and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. The candidate is required to go through the prospectus carefully and acquaint himself/herself with all requirements with regard to filling in of the online Registration form.

Instruction for Candidate for filling Online Registration / Application form
Online Registration is a 6 Step process. All Six (6) Steps of Online Registration Process should be completed before closing date as per the Advertisement. To avoid last day rush and disappointment, it is advisable to complete online registration well before closing date. Incomplete application form or with wrong or deliberately concealed information is liable to be straight away rejected without any intimation.
Before proceeding to register for AIIMS B.Sc Courses – 2016 you must ensure that you have read and understood the eligibility criteria of AIIMS B.Sc Courses as your form can be rejected at any stage due to ineligibility
Step 1.
1. Registration: Applicant should fill correct basic details like Full Name, DOB, Category, Gender, Email, Contact No. etc. subsequently to get Login credentials.
2. After completion of 1st Step of Registration, Applicant will get SMS and Email intimating about Login Credentials (If SMS or Email is not received, Call Helpline immediately).
3. Login with the credentials provided and change password on first time login. Password length should be between 6-10 characters. Please remember your password and do not share it with others.
4. After completion of 1st step of Registration process, My Page will be generated for each applicant bearing his/her entire information as filled by him/her. My Page will provide information regarding Due Steps; those should be completed before closing date, Admit Card & Result.
Step 2.
Qualification & Address details: Fill correct Qualification & Address details like Qualifying Examination Name, Status etc. and also fill Address details.
Step 3.
1. Fee Payment: Payment of Registration Fee can be done online through Debit card/Credit card and Net Banking.
2. After successful payment of registration fee, take printout of payment receipt bearing Unique Registration Number which can be used for future correspondence.
Step 4.
City Choice: Select Examination City from available City list carefully. City availability list shows the real-time status of seats in a city. City once selected cannot be changed later.
Step 5.
1. Upload Images: Applicant is required to upload a recently taken digital/scanned Photograph, Signature and Thumb Impression in JPG/ JPEG format.
2. The digital size of the Photograph file must be between 10 KB-100 KB and digital size of Signature and Left Thumb Impression file must be between 10 KB-50 KB, failing which applicant will not be able to upload images and complete registration process.
3. The photograph to be uploaded must be taken within 6 months from on-line registration opening date.

1. Print Registration Form: Applicant must take print of registration form and must check all information filled in the registration form carefully before final submission of registration form.
2. After submission of Registration form no request for correction/changes will be entertained. Taking print of Registration Slip is essential.
3. Applicant need not to send hard copy of registration Form or any other document to Exam Section, AIIMS. Always keep Registration form and payment receipt with you for future references.

Eligibility Criteria
For B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing, Bachelor in Optometry & B.Sc. (H) Medical Technology in Radiography Courses:
1. A candidate is eligible to appear in Entrance Examination if he/she is an Indian citizen.
2. He/She has attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission (2016). [Candidate born or after 2nd January, 2000 are NOT eligible to apply.]
3. He/She has a minimum aggregate marks required in qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or equivalent.
4. He/She has passed the 12th class under the 10+2 scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination from a recognized University/Board of any Indian State with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
5. Candidates for B.Sc. (Hons) Para- Medical courses should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics.
Note:
1. For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing course, only female candidates are eligible. (Common to AIIMS New Delhi & Six AIIMS like Institutions).
2. Candidates who are to appear in 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination in March/April 2016 and whose results are likely to be declared before 30th June,2016 are also eligible to apply for B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, Bachelor of Optometry and B.Sc.(Hons.) Medical Technology in Radiography Courses.
3. Candidates who are due to appear at the qualifying examination, or have already appeared and are awaiting result, can also apply for admission. But such candidates must furnish proof of passing the qualifying examination with requisite percentage of marks and subjects at the time of counselling failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing
55% for Gen/OBC (50% in case of SCs/STs categories) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
For Bachelor of Optometry / B.Sc. (Hons.) Medical Technology in Radiography Courses
50% for Gen / OBC (45% in case of SCs / STs Categories) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and either Biology OR Mathematics.
For B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic)
1. The candidate must have Passed 12th class under 10+2 system of education or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University. (Those who have passed 10+1 on or before 1986 are also eligible.)
2. Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from any institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
3. Registration as nurse, RN, RM (registered nurse, registered midwife) with any State Nursing Council.
4. In case of male nurses, (if passed before implementation of new integrated course in 2003), beside being registered as a nurse with the State Nursing Council, should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and instead of Training in Midwifery, training in any subject out of following, for a period of six months: i) O.T. Techniques, ii) Ophthalmic Nursing, iii) Leprosy Nursing, iv) TB Nursing, v) Psychiatric Nursing, vi) Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, vii) Community Health Nursing, viii) Cancer Nursing, ix) Orthopaedic Nursing.

Bachelor of Optometry / B.Sc. (Hons.) Medical Technology in Radiography courses
1. One paper of 1½ hours duration and consisting of objective type (Multiple Choice) questions in four parts of 30 questions each in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. The candidate may either attempt biology part or Mathematics part.
2. Based on the result of the Entrance Examination, separate merit lists will be prepared for the General, OBC, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories.
3. Any candidate who opts for confirmed seat in the Counselling, his/her original certificate will be retained and the same will not be returned to the candidate before completion of the course unless he/she deposits a sum of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) irrespective of the fact whether he/she joins the course or not. If a candidate who joins any of the B.Sc. (Hons) Medical Technology in Radiograpghy / Bachelor of Optometry course/ B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic)/M.Sc. Courses/M. Biotechnology Course/ M.Sc. Nursing, leaves the said courses, shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) by way of compensation/losses incurred by the AIIMS due to such midstream departure.
Note: The general standard of each entrance examination will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 scheme or an equivalent examination of an Indian University/Board.
B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic)
The examination will be held in Delhi, and in English language only.
The selection of candidates will be made on a 2-stage performance evaluation as under :
Stage I : Written Test :
Entrance exam (Written Test) is of 90 minutes duration consisting of one paper containing 70 objective type (Multiple Choice) questions in the subjects of fundamentals of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing including Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology, Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing.
Stage II : Personal Assessment / Interview :
1. On the basis of the merit list based on the marks secured in Stage-I, candidate three times the number of seats will be invited for Personal Assessment by a Selection Committee. If requisite number of SC or ST candidates are not available, then candidates belonging to SC and ST taken together will be invited. In case candidates belonging to SCs, STs & OBCs are not available for Personal Assessment, then the number of candidates from the General category will be proportionately increased.

List of Eligible Candidates for Open Counselling
All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the list of eligible candidates called for Open counselling on their official website. Candidates are advised to check the list of eligible candidates for open counselling on their official website or on this page.
Process of Open Counseling:
1. The process of counseling will be exactly the same as done in 1st and 2nd round of counseling.
2. On 28 Sep 2016 during open of counseling for B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing course for 7 AIIMS, first UR counseling will be done and after UR counseling is over, OBC counseling will be done followed by SC/ST counseling.
3. If any OBC seat remains vacant after counseling for OBC seat, all vacant seats will be transferred to UR category and will be offered to UR candidates on merit.
4. In case of SC/ST counseling, if any SC seat(s) remain vacant, these will be transferred to ST seat and vice- versa. All SC/ST seats which vacant after such transfers will also be transferred to UR category and will be offered to UR candidates strictly on merit.
5. Thus, UR candidates will be called again in case any OBC, SC and ST seats remain vacant after counseling for these category is over in this round and all UR candidates should, therefore stay, back till it is announced that counseling is finally over.
6. The candidates who are pursuing any course or have opted any seats in any AIIMS/elsewhere are Required to bring proof of their resignation letter/seats surrender letter in original to be eligible to appear in the open selection otherwise they will not be allowed to attend the same.
7. At the time of counselling candidates must bring original certificate along with them.
8. All the candidates allotted seats must give an undertaking that they are not holding seat in any Medical college.
9. Failure to bring original certificate resignation/seat surrender letter as applicable will make candidate ineligible for allotment of seat in the counseling.
10. No transfer of institution is allowed in open counseling.

Those candidates who want to avail of the National Medical Library facilities located in the vicinity of the Institute campus will be required to deposit Rs. 50/- extra.
NOTE :
- The above fees are subject to revision from time to time by the Institute and the students admitted shall have to pay the fees as may be decided by the Institute.
- The fees and other charges including Hostel rent, once paid, shall not be refunded in any case, even if a student leaves the Institute before the completion of semester or does not join the Institute for any reason. No correspondence on this account will be entertained.
- The Caution Money will, however, be refunded to those candidates who do not join the course. In case of a student leaving the course in the middle or after the completion of the course, the balance of caution money, if any after eduction of the charges due, will be refunded.
- Mess is compulsory for the Nursing students residing in the hostels. The mess charges are 700/- per month (subject to revision from time to time) payable to the Mess in-charge every month in advance.
Reservation
Reservation of seats at AIIMS, New Delhi is as follows:
- Other Backward Class: 27%
- Scheduled Caste: 15%
- Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%
If requisite number of suitable candidates is not available to fill up the seats reserved for the Scheduled Castes, the same will be filled by candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes and vice-versa
In case suitable candidates are not available from the two reserved categories, the vacant seats will be filled up by the candidates from the general category. In case suitable candidates are also not available in the OBC reserved category, the same will be filled up by the candidates from the general category. For Indian Nationals, 3% reservation for Orthopedic physically handicapped shall be provided on horizontal basis, in the seats advertised.
