Orissa University of Agriculture of technology (OUAT) was established in Bhubanswar, Orissa. It was set up in 1962. OUAT University is one of the oldest University in all over country. There will be provide various under graduate and post graduate courses. Every year, huge number of applied for various courses in OUAT University. Same as previous year, in this year also huge number of candidates are participated in OUAT entrance examination for get admission in various colleges.

OUAT 2016 is the Entrance Exam for admission to UG, PG and Doctoral courses in Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology. Eligible candidates are required to submit OUAT 2016 application form on or before the last date. Detailed information such as how to apply, application fee, is given below. Submission of Application Form B for OUAT U.G. Admission

After appearing at the Entrance Examination, the candidates should have to submit Form-‘B’ offline (by post) duly filled in, on or before the last date. The Form-B downloaded from the OUAT website www.ouat.ac.in. and duly filled in should be sent along with the enclosures mentioned below by Registered Post/ Speed Post / Courier Service to the Asst. Registrar (Academic), Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar – 751003 in a plain envelop superscribing “FORM – ‘B’, OUAT U.G. ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, 2016-17″ on the top of the envelope along with required self attested documents and testimonials. The university is not responsible for any postal delay in receiving ‘B’ Forms and ‘B’ form received after due date shall not be entertained in any way. No applications will be received by hand. No application shall be received after the closing date.

Self Attested Photocopies of documents to be enclosed with Form ‘B’

1. Mark sheet and Certificate of 10th showing date of Birth.

2. Mark sheet and Certificate of +2 Science.

3. SC/ST/Green Card / Ph. Handicapped certificate from the competent authority for the respective reserved category.

Submission of Application form for OUAT P.G and Ph.D Admissions

The candidates are advised to send the application form complete in all respect, to “The Director, College of Basic Science & Humanities, OUAT, Bhubnaswar-751003” through Regd. Post / Courier Service till 05.00PM for Masters and till 05.00PM for Ph. D Programme, along with the self attested copies of the following documents.

1. Self Attested Photocopies of documents to be enclosed with Form.

2. Photo copy of e-Receipt of payment of application fee of Rs. 1000.00.

3. Photo copy of HSC/Equivalent Certificate.

4. Photo copy of date of birth certificate from the Registrar of birth & deaths if the HSC/ Equivalent certificate does not indicate it.

5. Photo copy of the mark sheet from BSE, Odisha, or its equivalent.

6. Photo copy of +2 Sc certificate from CHSE, Odisha, or its equivalent.

7. Photo copy of the mark sheet of +2 Science, CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent.

8. Photo copy of the Bachelor’s Degree Certificate.

9. Photo copy of the mark sheet of Bachelors Degree.

10. Photo copy of Masters’ Degree certificate (For Ph. D).

11. Photo copy of Master’ Degree Mark Sheet (For Ph. D).

12. Photo copy of SC/ST Certificate from Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahasildar/ Additional Tahasildar in case of claim for SC/ST Category.

13. In case, Odia is not M.I.L , in BSE, Odisha, or its equivalent, photo copy of certificate of permanent residency of parents in Odisha, as relevant in individual cases or the competent authority. OR

14. Photo copy of certificate from the District Magistrate of the concerned district in case of an Odia permanently residing outside Odisha,, who did not have Odia as M.I.L in HSC /Equivalent examination.OR

15. Service certificate (original/ attested copy) of parent(s) from the head of the office/ institution as relevant in individual cases.

16. Photo copy of certificate(s) relating to special claims like Sports/NCC/NSS.

Eligibility Criteria

For Undergraduate Courses


1. Students admitted into B.Sc. (Ag.)/B.Sc. (Hort.) / B.Sc. (Forestry) /B.Sc. (Home Science) without having Mathematics or Biology at the +2 level will have to make up their deficiency by taking pre-requisite courses in the subject (Mathematics / Biology) to be offered during the first two semesters.

2. Pass out students of OUAT Diploma in Agro-Polytechnic Course may apply off line for Admission into UG Courses of their streams (for detail please refer Clause- 3.5.6 of the UG Prospectus) .

3. The candidate must have completed 17 years of age by 31 Dec 2016 (Born on before 01 Jan 2000).

For Postgraduate Courses


Candidates must have obtained minimum 50% marks in concerned Honours/Core/Major subjects. For Graduates of Agriculture and allied subjects who are eligible for admission into M. Sc. (Microbiology), should have minimum 55% marks in aggregate or OGPA 5.5 in 10 point scale or equivalent. A candidate belonging to SC/ST shall have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in concerned Honours subject.

Note: Candidates who have appeared the examination but results are not declared can also apply but he/she must submit the mark sheet by 25.06.2016 after declaration of result otherwise the application for admission will be rejected.

Admit Card

OUAT M.Sc and Ph.D Admit Card 2016

OUAT PG & Ph.D courses admit card shall be issued for appearing the entrance examination. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the examination hall without admit card. A candidate failing to receive the Admit Card may approach the Director one day prior to the examination for receiving the same.

Admit Card will be issued to those candidates who fill their application on or before the last date of application and submitted their fee for entrance examination.


OUAT UG Admit Card 

The data submitted online on OUAT Application Form webpage is used to generate OUAT Form-‘A’-cum-admit Card, was downloaded by the applicant from the official website in two copies and bring with him/ her without signature, while coming to appear at the Entrance Examination. They are to put the signature at appropriate place in the presence of the invigilator and hand over one copy to the Invigilator.

OUAT UG Admit Card process is over now..!!

No request for change of Centre will be entertained under any circumstance. The University, however, reserves the right to change the Centre preferred by a candidate, if required. No admit cards will be sent to the candidates separately.

Key points about OUAT Admit Card

1. Candidate has to print out two copies of the same and bring to the examination hall without signature, otherwise the candidate will not be allowed to appear at the examination.

2. Without the admit card of OUAT entrance exam, candidate will not be allowed to appear at the examination.

3. The candidate has to put his/her signature at the places specified for, before the invigilator and hand over one copy to the invigilator.Second copy of the Form ‘A’-cum-Admit Card may be retained by the candidate for his/her future reference.

Instructions after downloading the OUAT Admit Card

1. One recent passport size photograph duly pasted (not stapled) at the appropriate place of Form ‘A’-Cum-Admit Card.

2. The candidate is directed to carry with him any of the following documents in original for identification/verification and record.

3. Voter ID Card.

4. Driving Licence.

5. Pan Card.

6. Student Identity Card with photograph issued by the School/College last attended.

7. Passport.

8. Adhar Card.

9. Nationalized Bank Passbook with photograph

10. Copy of e-receipt generated from ‘State Bank Collect’ after applying online as a proof of successful payment of application fee should be brought by the candidate for verification.

Entrance Exam Pattern

For UG Programmes

The Entrance Examination will be of objective (multiple choice) test for 200 marks of two hours duration and the medium of Examination will be English. The subjects of examination and marks distribution are indicated below.

Candidates are to answer Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology.

Note : A separate Entrance Test will be conducted for Agro-Polytechnic students carrying 200 marks in objective(multiple choice) type questions in English medium of two hours duration from their respective Agro-Polytechnic stream.

Weightage to Academic Career and Entrance Examination

Weighted score of candidates will be calculated on the basis of his/her academic career and Entrance Examination as given below

H.S.C. / equivalent 25%
+2 Sc. /equivalent 25%
Entrance Examination 50%
Total 100%

1/4th of the total mark secured in the Entrance Examination

The H.S.C. marks without extra optional and +2 Science mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology (whichever is higher) will be taken in to account.
In case of candidates who have passed any of the examinations compartmentally/ improvement, the average marks of the 1st and 2nd examinations will be taken for computation of the weighted score.

For PG and Ph.D Programmes

For P.G. & Ph. D candidates have to appear in the entrance examination in the College of Basic Science and Humanities, O.U.A.T on the date and time notified after approval by the Academic Council. The examination will be of 2 hours duration and will carry 100 marks. The questions will be of objective type (40 marks) and short answer type (60 marks), covering the course taught at Bachelor’s/Masters Level. All candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility shall be issued admit card for appearing the entrance Examination. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the examination hall without admit card. A candidate failing to receive the Admit Card may approach the Director one day prior to the examination for receiving the same.

There will be a viva-voce test for Ph.D. candidates.

Result & Merit List

OUAT Result 2016 of OUAT Entrance Exam can be checked here, when it will be announced officially. After declaration of results, the University shall conduct counselling for admissions. Candidates selected for counselling will be intimated by Registered Post/ Speed post as per their rank to attend the counseling for admission into UG, PG and Doctoral courses.

Counseling

For UG Spot Admission

After Counseling of Admission into different U.G. Courses of OUAT from 25 to 29 July 2016, only few seats are available for admission into different Under Graduate Courses for the Academic Session 2016-17 as detailed below. A spot admission will be conducted on 26 August 2016 at 9.30 AM in the Dr. M. S. Swaminathan Conference Hall, 2nd floor, OUAT Administrative Building, Bhubaneswar-3 to fill up the available seats.

Selection Procedure

For UG Courses

Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology will conduct common entrance exam OUAT 2016 for admission into B.Sc.(Ag), B.Sc. (Forestry), B. Sc. (Horticulture), B.F.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.) and B.Sc.(Home Science) courses.

The candidates for admission will be selected solely on the basis of Merit (Weighted Score) which is based on his/her performance of academic career, Entrance Examination and Extra curricular activities.

If two or more candidates secure the same computed score, the tie shall be resolved and their merit positions will be decided on the basis of higher marks in the Entrance Examination or +2 Science or HSC/equivalent in that order.

The candidates seeking admission into B.Sc. (Forestry) Course should qualify Physical Endurance Test to be conducted one day before their respective day of the counseling of each category, failing which their candidature for the admission into B.Sc. (Forestry) course will not be considered. To appear at Physical Endurance Test, the candidate should come with a certificate of Physical Fitness as issued by the medical officer not below the rank of CDMO within the period of 30 days with respect to physical capacity to undergo an endurance test of brisk walking of 25 km for male and 14 km for female within four hours and the candidates should posses the minimum physical standard as follows.

Physical Standards / Eligibility requirement

1) Height
Male (General & SC) = 163 cm., ST = 152 cm
Female (General & SC) = 150 cm., ST = 145 cm

2) Chest girth
Male = 79 cm to 84 cm (Minimum 5 cm. expansion)
Female =74 cm to 79 cm (Minimum 5 cm. expansion)

3) Physical capacity for Fast walking in four hours :-
Male = 25 km
Female = 14 km

Candidates with outstanding records in extra curricular activities as detailed below will be given extra weight-age over the score computed from career marks and marks secured in the Entrance Examination. The following percentage of marks under different extra curricular activities of the students will be added to the computed score of the Academic Career and Entrance Examination to arrive at the final score.

• For Agro-Polytechnic Pass Out Students of OUAT

1. For pass out students of Diploma in Agro-Polytechnic Course of OUAT, 10% of the intake capacity of respective streams of Diploma in Agro-Polytechnic Course are kept reserved in different UG Courses, over and above the intake capacity of these discipline on cost sharing basis.

2. Seat breakup for different courses i.e. Agril./Hort./Fishery and Veterinary science & A.H. are 12 Nos. of seats in B.Sc.(Ag.) out of which 6 Nos. of seats each in the College of Agriculture, Chiplima and Bhawanipatna,4 Nos. of seats for B.Sc.( Hort.) at College of Horticulture Chiplima, 2 Nos. of seats for B.F.Sc.at College of Fisheries, Rangeilunda and 2 Nos. of seats for B.V.Sc. & A.H. at College of Veterinary Sc. & A.H., Bhubaneswar.

• For PG and Ph.D Courses

Reservation: 22.5% and 16.25% of seats are reserved for ST and SC candidates respectively for P.G. Admission. One seat will be reserved for NRI & Foreign candidates over and above the intake capacity for P.G. & Ph.D. in Microbiology.

In other disciplines, one seat is available for admission to entrance exempted candidates in the Ph.D. Programme over and above the intake capacity.
