GSAT 2016 – GITAM Science Entrance Exam Details

GITAM Science Admissions Test (GSAT) 2016 – The GSAT 2016 Entrance Exam is conducted by GITAM University for admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Science Programmes commencing in the Session 2016-17 .Candidates who wish to take admission in GITAM University, details of admission are given below.

 HOW TO APPLY

1. Applications can be downloaded from GITAM website www.gitam.edu.

2. Applications can be obtained by post, from Principal, GITAM Institute of Science by sending a
request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address, accompanied by
DD for Rs.350/- (inclusive of Test fee Rs. 300/-) drawn in favour of GITAM University payable
at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Request by post will be accepted till 21st April 2016.

3. The test fee for Five year Integrated M.Sc. Chemistry sponsored by Laurus Labs is Rs. 500.
Candidates appearing for more than one test need to submit separate application along with
the prescribed fee of Rs.300/- for each test.

5. Filled in applications along with attested copies of the following certificates and the prescribed fee of Rs.300/- or Rs. 500 as the case may be should reach the Principal, GITAM Institute of Science,
GITAM UNIVERSITY, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530 045, A.P., India on or before 02.05.2016.

6. Date of Birth extract of SSC / ICSE/CBSE / Matriculation certificate.

7. Degree / Provisional Certificate of the qualifying degree examination in the case of
candidates appearing for PG programmes. Intermediate / 10 +2 certificate in the case of
candidates appearing for UG programmes.

8. Caste Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming reservation under SC/ST.

9. Medical Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming under PH category.

Eligibility Criteria

For admission to UG Programmes (BEM /5 year Integrated M.Sc., BCA and B.Sc):

GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM University, offers the following courses for Intermediate / +2 candidates.

  • Bachelor of Environmental Management (BEM).
  • Five year Integrated M.Sc. Programme in Biotechnology (with an option to secure B.Sc. at the end of 3rd year and B.Sc. (Hons.) at the end of 4th year) [Candidates with science optional are only eligible]
  • Five year integrated M.Sc. Program in Chemistry (Sponsored by Laurus Labs)
  • Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
  • Βachelor of Science* (B.Sc. with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry / Electronics/Computer Science)

* Candidates with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at Intermediate / +2 only can apply

For Admission in MCA Programme

Candidates seeking admission to MCA programme are required to appear for an entrance test GSAT – 2016 to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India. Admission is based on the rank obtained in the entrance test.

Requirement for admission to the above programmes is a pass in any Degree with 50% Marks and Mathematics at +2 level or Degree level or equivalent examination.

Candidates who have appeared/ are appearing for the final examinations in 2016 are also eligible.

Test Procedure of GSAT 2016 

1. Candidates are advised to come to the examination hall at least half an hour before the commencement of the test.

2. Candidates will not be admitted into the examination hall without hall ticket or after the commencement of the test. They will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the stipulated time.

3. Calculators, cell phones, books, papers, logarithm tables, slide-rule or any other calculating aids are not allowed into the examination hall.

4. Candidates should answer only on the answer sheet.

5. The Chief Superintendent of the test centre can take disciplinary action on candidates involved in indiscipline, malpractice, impersonation, etc., and the answer scripts of such candidates will not be valued.

Reservation

Admission to various courses of study shall be made on the basis of GSAT – 2016 rank and eligibility criteria subject to the rule of reservation as applicable to GITAM University.
