KEA conducted Karnataka CET → It entrance exam held to determine merit for admission to professional courses including engineering, medical, architecture, health sciences, agriculture, veterinary science and animal husbandry, pharmacy. Exam pattern and syllabus is specified for each subject for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. Admission is on basis of college & branch preference, and merit obtained in KCET 2016 Result, subject to verification of documents and eligibility.

Examination Pattern
• Exam pattern explains the marking scheme, number of questions, and other relevant details that a candidate must know before attempting the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. Examination pattern of KCET 2016 shall be as determined by the Karnataka Examination Authority, and will be different for each question paper. Based on the course (Engg., Medical, Ayurveda, Pharmacy), candidates will have to attempt physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics papers in the KCET 2016 exam.
• In order to obtain admission to any of the professional courses through KEA, a candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test, which will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore. The Common Entrance Test 2016 will be conducted at various test centers. Key highlights of the KCET 2016 exam pattern, as expected from last year’s brochure is given below.
• Karnataka CET shall be held at various test centers in Karnataka. Candidates who appear in the exam are expected to solve the subject wise KCET question paper as per course selected and qualify in the same.
• Question paper of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics will each be of 60 marks.
Kannada language test of 50 marks shall be conducted for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates
• There is no negative marking.
Syllabus → The syllabus of KCET, as defined by the competent authority, is that the question papers of the Common Entrance Test will be based on the First and Second PUC syllabi prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State.

Kannada Language Test
The candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses and whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava, will have to undergo a Kannada language test, to establish their ability to speak, read and write Kannada. The Kannada Language test will be conducted by KEA as per the above schedule only in Bangalore Centre; therefore such candidates will have to appear for the ‘Common Entrance Test – 2016’ in a test centre located at BANGALORE Only. The relevant photocopy of the original documents of the parents in support of their claim such as marks cards, study certificates, etc., along with the CET admission ticket should be produced on the day of Kannada Language Test.
The minimum passing marks for all Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates shall be 12 out of 50 marks in Kannada Language Examination conducted by KEA in order to be considered for assignment of ranks and to become eligible for allotment of seats in CET-2016. (The Kannada Language Test paper will be of 4th Standard Level)
However, the Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates who have studied TEN full academic years in Kannada Medium from 1st standard to 10th standard in places outside the state of Karnataka need not appear for Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.
Admit Card
The admit card of Karnataka exam is issued to those candidates who have submitted the application form before last date. test admission ticket will be available for download from 15 April 2016 to 04 May 2016. Admit card must be downloaded using login details, which are generated during filling up of application form. admit card must contain the following information.

Karnataka CET Results
• After the exam is conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), official answer key of KCET 2016 shall be published. Candidates will be given a stipulated duration in which they can suggest discrepancies in the KCET answer key.
• On the basis of answers marked in the KCET 2016 entrance exam, candidates will be awarded marks in the exam.
• KCET 2016 result and merit list shall be based on the marks obtained by the candidate.
Candidate will have to obtain minimum qualifying (cut-off) mark (wherever specified) for the specified course, in order to get a place in the KCET 2016 merit list.
• The CET Result will be published as per schedule. On the KEA Website after the declaration of the result, the candidates may not get ranks assigned.

• Eligibility criteria for Engineering (BE / B.Tech)
Candidate should have passed 2nd PUC or equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages. Minimum marks to be obtained in optional subjects is 45% (40% for SC, ST, Cat 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B candidates).
