IIT UCEED 2017→ It is the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) which will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay under the guidance of the UCEED Admissions Committee. The performance of a candidate in the examination ‘Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design 2017 (UCEED 2017) will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in Design (B Des) at the Industrial Design Centre,It is expected that UCEED 2017 will be held in the following 14 cities in India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.
Important Dates
• Registration
1. All the candidates must first Register online before proceeding to fill the application form. You may do this by clicking the Apply Online link on the UCEED website.
2. During the registration, one must provide a valid email address and an active mobile number since the UCEED office will use these contacts for all future communications to the candidates.
3. Once the registration page is submitted, an email will be sent to the registered email address with a link for validating the email address (in case one does not find the email in the Inbox, please check the Junk/Spam folder). A password will also be sent to the registered mobile number, which has to be used for completing the registration process. If a wrong email address and/or mobile number was provided, then one must register afresh with the correct details.
4. Do not delete the email sent to you. This will be useful for future reference. When you click on the emailed link, you will be provided with a login screen, where you have to enter your email address as the user id and the password sent through SMS. On successful login, you will be provided an application form to fill in and a registration id (UC16 followed by a 6 digit number; e.g., UC16123456).
5. Provide the correct phone number, email id, and note down the password and application id. They are critical for later transactions such as checking UCEED application status, correcting discrepancies (if any) & re-uploading documents, downloading Admit Card, checking UCEED Results, downloading Score Card, checking B. Des application status etc.
6. Requests for resetting registration or change of email/mobile phone number will take time and may cause you to miss deadlines.
• Completing the Online Application Form
1. In the Online application web page, enter your personal details.
2. Choose an exam city. You have to provide all three choices.
3. Upload the files containing photograph, signature, eligibility certificate and other supporting documents.
4. Before Clicking Pay Fee & Submit, you must check whether the information filled by you is correct through the Preview option, as you cannot edit the form after submitting it.
5. Application procedure will be completed only if the application is submitted by clicking the Pay Fee & Submit button.
• Paying the Application Fee
1. When you click Pay Fee & Submit button, you will be redirected to the payment portal for UCEED application fee payment.
2. Applicants can make the fee payment using Internet banking, Credit card or Debit card through the payment portal. Details of making payments are available on the UCEED website, www.uceed.in.
3. Once your payment is successfully completed, you will get a confirmation page. Keep a copy of this. This is only for your reference. Do not send this to the UCEED office.
4. You can Save the application form any time before Clicking Pay Fee & Submit button, to logout, and to login back again and continue the application process.
5. However, if the application filling page remains idle for more than 30 minutes, the session will expire. In such a case, you will have to login again and continue from your last saved session.
6. Application forms, incomplete in any way, will be summarily rejected and the application will be considered invalid.
Note → It is the responsibility of the candidate to make sure that he/she is eligible for UCEED 2017. Application Fee will not be refunded even if the application is rejected.
If a candidate makes multiple payments for the same application, refund will be made.
Registration Fee (Last year)
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate, including a foreign national, must fulfill each and every one of the following three criteria to appear in UCEED.
• Age limit
The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1996 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1991 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
• Number of attempts
A candidate can attempt UCEED for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. Note that UCEED score is valid for one year, and only for admissions in the corresponding academic year.
• Qualifying examination
The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2015, OR will appear in 2016.
Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2014 or earlier are not eligible.
Qualifying Examination
1. The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian
2. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
3. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
4. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
5. Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or in a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
6. H.S.C. vocational examination.
7. A Diploma recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (www.aicte-india.org) or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration.
8. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
9. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
10. Candidates who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII examination.
11. In case the Class XII examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.
Eligibility Requirement for B. Des Courses
1. For admission to B.Des. the candidate should have passed in the qualifying examination.
2. If a qualifying Board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing grade on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade and submit it at the time of online acceptance of the allocated seat. In case such a certificate is not provided, the decision taken by the B. Des. Admissions Committee will be final.
3. Candidates should have qualified in UCEED.
4. The criteria, as specified above, is applicable “in toto” to all the candidates including foreign nationals.
Admission Process for B. Des
1. Only UCEED qualified students can apply for admission to the B. Des. programme at IIT Bombay for the academic year 2017-18.
2. The application procedure, application form and admission schedule will be provided on the UCEED website in the 1st week of June.
3. The first round of admission will be announced in the 1st week of July. Category wise admission will be based on the ranks obtained by candidates.
4. If the selected candidates do not pay the fees before the deadline or decline the admission, their application will stand cancelled. These vacant seats will be filled during the second round of admissions in the 2nd week of July.
5. If these selected candidates do not pay the fees before the deadline or decline the admission, their application will stand canceled. If vacant seats still exist, a selected number of applicants (depending on the vacancies available and category wise reservation), who are on the top of the remaining rank list, will be called for spot admission prior to the UG orientation at IIT Bombay (the exact date will be intimated to the applicants).
6. It is the responsibility of the candidate to be present in person with the necessary documents and fees for such spot admissions. Spot admission will also be based on the rank and category-wise vacancy hence is not guaranteed for all those who are present during the spot admission.

Process of Filling Application Form
