CSSET 2016 – Combined Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test for B.Ed.

CSSET (B.Ed) → It will conducted for the three Sanskrit deemed universities. CSSET (B.Ed) 2016 was held in the month of May 2016 by the Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati. Combined Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test for B.Ed. (CSSET 2016) was held at specified test centres in different parts of the country. As per National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the course will be of two years in duration.

• The successful candidates are requested to note the following for compliance:-

→ Students are directed to contact the concerned University/Campus of Sansthan for further instructions.

→ Admission will be given by the concerned university admission committee after verifying the documents.

→ Admission will be given from 04 July to 08 July 2016.

→ For vacant seats in the three Universities 2nd list will be declared on 11 July at 4 pm. on the website of the three universities.

→ Further date of second list will be published by the concerned university.

Admit Card

Candidates can download the admit card one week before the examination date from the official website, In case you do not get the Admit Card before Examination date, you may check the Website and find out the Roll no. and name of the Examination centre from internet and contact the centre supdt. one hour before the examination with two photographs alongwith the prescribed form filled in. Second copy of the admit card will be issued on payment of Rs. 50/- only. Fill the application form only if you consider yourself eligible for it.

Examination  Pattern

The total duration of this paper is two and a half hours which is divided as follows.

1. Part-A” objective-type of the paper → Two hours for the first. 

2. Part-B” descriptive type of the paper for which separate question paper and answer sheet will be provided. → Half an  hour for the second.

• Ten minutes extra will be provided for collecting the OMR sheets, the question paper booklets and distribution of the answer sheet of the Q.P. Part ‘B’. At 12.05 only the Q.P. Part ‘B’ shall be distributed. During this period the candidates will keep sitting in their respective seats.

• The Combined Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test (CSSET) will consist of question paper in two parts. Part ‘A’ and Part ‘B’

1. Part-A → Time 10 a.m. to 12.00 noon -Total Marks-160

 Part ‘A’ will comprise of Multiple choice questions. The first part will have following four sections

Proficiency in Sanskrit Language – 40 marks
General Knowledge & Mental Ability – 40 marks
Teaching Aptitude – 40 marks
Sanskrit Literature – 40 mark

For each question, four choices of the answer shall be provided. Out of these only one will be the correct answer. If more than one answers are marked for any question, it will be treated as wrong and no mark will be awarded for such an answer. For Example please see the specimen copy of Answer Sheet. All the questions will be in Sanskrit.

2. Part B : Time 12.10 P.M. to 12.40 P.M. – Total Marks-40

The Second part will be of writing Sanskrit language based questions

Knowledge of Sanskrit linguistic Components – 10 marks
Comprehension Test – 20 marks
Creative Writing – 10 marks

Evaluation Method

The Shiksha Shastri is a professional course for Sanskrit teachers. Therefore,

→ Securing atleast 35% marks separately in proficiency in Sanskrit language and Sanskrit Literature i.e. in First and fourth sections of Part ‘A’ and also in Sanskrit language writing capability i.e. part B is must. For the remaining sections (Second & third of part “A”) as well, minimum 20% marks in each of the section will be compulsory for passing.

→ Only those candidates passing with requisite marks in all sections of Part “A” will qualify for evaluation of Part “B”.

→ Those candidates who pass in both part “A” and “B” will be declared successful.

Examination Centres


Eligibility Criteria

Shastri or B.A. (With Sanskrit) in 10+2+3 Scheme and / or M.A. (Sanskrit)/ Acharya or equivalent traditional degree from any University or recognised examining body having obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent grade.

The students who have passed Shastri/B.A. (With Sanskrit) Two year course from any University or recognised examining body should have secured at least 50% marks in the aggregate and or have passed Acharya Ist year /M.A. (Skt) Ist year/Setu (Bridge course)/Vidwanmadhyama/ Vidwaduttama examination. For the eligibility of 50% Shastri/B.A. (with Skt.) marks only will be considered.

Eligibility conditions for candidates belonging to SC/ST/otherwise abled categories will be 45% marks in the qualifying examinations. Other conditions, however, will remain the same.

The proof of having passed the qualifying examination should accompany the application form. In case the result is awaited, it must be submitted (declared or confidential) at the time of admission; otherwise the candidature of the applicant shall stand cancelled.

Age Limit → A candidate seeking admission to Shiksha Shastri Course must have completed 20 years of age on or before Ist October 2016. No age relaxation will be permitted.

 Selection Process

• Admission to Shiksha Shastri Course will be through written entrance test called Combined Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test (CSSET). All candidates seeking admission to the course must apply on prescribed application form. All eligible candidates will be required to appear for written test.

•  Admission cards for appearing in the CSSET will be sent to all candidates through speed post. In case the admit card is not received by one week before the examination, find the Roll number and name of the centre through internet or contact Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, New Delhi, Headquarters or Exam Centre for duplicate Admit Card. While applying for admission test, each candidate is required to give his choice in preference order for admisssion in Vidyapeethas or Sansthan.

• If the Candidate chooses Sansthan he may give choice for any one Campus in the prescribed column. In case of non-availability of seats in the desired Vidyapeetha/ Campus, the admission may be given in any one of the Vidyapeetha/ Campuses according to merit. Merit-lists for admission will be prepared for the three Universities separately. The intimation for admission to selected candidates will be communicated through website or by speed post.
