Himachal Pradesh (HP) is conducting Admission and Counselling in MBBS & BDS 2016

Himachal Pradesh MBBS & BDS → This  University has released notification for the HP MBBS & BDS Admission and Counselling 2016 on behalf of the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh Department of Medical Education & Research .
This Counseling is being conducted for 85% State Quota Seats which includes the reserved seats of Children of J& K Migrants and Children of Tibetan Refugees, as the case may be, in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges (excluding seats reserved for NRI) and for 50% State Quota and Management Quota Seats in the Private Un-aided Medical/ Dental Colleges as per distribution of seats given below.

Detail about Merit list

After the completion of Registration Process, HPU shall release the provisional merit list of the candidates who will be called for HPU MBBS / BDS Counseling 2016. Merit List shall contain the names / roll no.s of the selected candidates. Candidates will be able to check the HPU MBBS / BDS NEET 2016 Merit List on theofficial website as well as by using the direct link to be provided below.

The candidates are advised to check their Merit Rank in the General Combined Merit List of all categories and attend the counselling along with all required documents/certificates as per schedule is given here under.

 Detail  about Rejection List

The application form of the some candidates has been rejected due to non-qualified of the NEET-2016 with the minimum prescribed total marks i.e., 145 for General & Others Categories and 118 for SC/ST/OBC Categories and 131 for General Physically Handicapped. The Himachal Pradesh University has published that list of candidates. Application Form of Himachal Pradesh (HP) MBBS & BDS Admission 2016 is available now. The candidates who are likely to be qualified in NEET-I & II-2016 and fulfill the eligibility criteria and other conditions may apply online only by using University website at www.hpuniv.in for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in different Medical/Dental Colleges located in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

 Process of Application Fee

The fee of Rs. 1600/- for General/OBC & Other categories and Rs. 800/- for SC/ST Categories only. Fee once deposited shall not be refunded in any case.

→ By generating the Challan to deposit the fee payment by cash in the nearest branch of State bank of India.

Eligibility Criteria

For State Quota Seats

Children of Bonafide Himachali/ Domicile/ Himachal Govt. employees and employees of autonomous bodies wholly or partially financed by the Himachal Pradesh Government who qualified the NEET-I & II-2016 will only be eligible to apply ONLINE for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses through counselling on the basis of State merit ranking of NEET- I & II-2016 in Government Medical/Dental Colleges including 50% State Quota seats in Private un-aided Medical/Dental Colleges situated in Himachal Pradesh. They should have passed at least two exams out of the following examinations from the recognized schools or colleges situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh and affiliated to ICSE/CBSE/H.P. Board of School Education or equivalent Boards/Universities established by law in India.

→ Middle or equivalent
→ Matric or equivalent
→10+1 or equivalent
→10+2 or equivalent

The Bonafide Himachali students who are admitted to Navodya Schools situated in Himachal Pradesh and who have passed matric or +2 examinations under the exchange programme from other Navodya Schools in the Country shall also be eligible for admission to the above courses.

Following categories of candidates are exempted from the condition of passing the examinations from recognized schools affiliated to ICSE/CBSE/HP Board of School Education and situated within Himachal Pradesh, provided that the candidates of these categories should be Bonafide Himachali and their father/mother are living outside Himachal Pradesh on account of their service/posting /private occupation. In such cases, non-schooling in Himachal Pradesh shall not debar them from competing against any of the seats whether reserved or otherwise (except backward area seats) :-

• Children of Defense Personnel/Ex-Servicemen
• Children of serving /retired employees of Central Government/U.T./Other State Governments and • • Children of employees of the Autonomous Organizations/Semi Government Bodies of Central Government/U.T./Other State Governments.
• Children of employees of Himachal Government/H.P. Govt. Undertaking/ Autonomous Bodies wholly owned by H.P. Government.
• Children of employees of Private Sector / Private occupation.

→ Point should be keep in mind are as below

1. Candidates claiming exemption for passing two examination from the schools situated in Himachal Pradesh under the category (iv) as mentioned above, should have passed their schooling from the schools situated in the place /station where their parents are residing.

2. Candidates claiming exemption for passing two exams from H.P School(s) under the categories as mentioned in sub-clauses (2) & (4) above of clause shall also submit a certificate on the prescribed format as given in the prospectus at Appendix A-12, A- 13, A- 14 & A-15 with the application form in original, as applicable.

3.The merit list of qualified candidates of NEET-I & II-2016 who applied online to the University within stipulated period will only be drawn by the University and candidates those will not found qualified in NEET-I & II–2016, their application forms will be rejected without any notice and names of such candidates shall not be included in the merit list. The application fee shall not be refunded in any case.

 Management courses Quota Seats

The Management Quota Seats in Private un-aided Medical/Dental Colleges in the State of Himachal Pradesh, will be filled up from the qualified candidates of NEET- I & II-2016 in order of merit drawn by the University for which there will be no Bonafide Himachali/Domicile and schooling conditions. Under this quota, both Himachali and Non-Himachali (Indian National) interested candidates can also apply online for admission to BDS course through counselling subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualification and age etc.

Note → Candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed for State Quota Seats, will be considered only for Management Quota seats.

Educational Qualifications and Other Conditions

The Management Quota Seats in Private un-aided Medical/Dental Colleges in the State of Himachal Pradesh, will be filled up from the qualified candidates of NEET- I & II-2016 in order of merit drawn by the University for which there will be no Bonafide Himachali/Domicile and schooling conditions. Under this quota, both Himachali and Non-Himachali (Indian National) interested candidates can also apply online for admission to BDS course through counselling subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualification and age etc. as prescribed in the prospectus.

Note →  Candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria as prescribed for State Quota Seats, will be considered only for Management Quota seats, if otherwise they are interested.

Educational Qualifications and Other Conditions  → Candidates should have passed in any one of the following qualifying examination at the time of first round of counselling :-

• The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology(which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. OR

• B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology(Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. OR

• Any other examinations which in scope and standard (Last 2 years of 10+2 study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology; Which shall include practical test in these subjects.) is found to be equivalent to the intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.

• Provided that to be eligible for admission, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above. Provided also that to be eligible for admission, the candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in clause (2) of regulation 4 on Graduate Medical Education 1997 and in addition must have come in the merit list of NEET-I & II-2016 for admission to MBBS/ BDS courses subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as laid down in the prospectus.

• In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for General candidates. Further, for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

• Provided further that the students studied abroad seeking admission into Medical/Dental Colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English upto the 12 standard level with 50% marks as mentioned above and their equivalency shall be determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

Note →  Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

• The above qualifications will only determine the eligibility of a candidate for admission, but the admission shall be made through counselling committee on the basis of merit drawn by the H.P. University of those qualified candidates of NEET-I & II-2016 who have submitted online application form successfully with requisite transaction of fee within stipulated period.

• Passing of English Examination in Pre-medical or other equivalent examination is compulsory, at the time of counselling. No permission for passing English after admission into the course(s) will be granted.

Age Limit →  The Candidate should have already completed or should complete the age of 17 years and must have completed 25 years of upper age on 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the first year MBBS/BDS course. The Applications of candidates who do not fulfill the age requirements will be summarily rejected. Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary Certificate/Indian School Certificate will only be valid. The candidate must born on or between 1.1.1992 to 1.1.2000 (for all categories).
