The University of Agricultural Sciences, was established on October 1, 1986. The University has 5 Colleges, 30 Research Stations, 6 Extension Education Units, 5 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and ATIC. The University has its jurisdiction over 7 districts namely Bagalkot, Belgaum, Bijapur, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Uttar Kannada in northern Karnataka. Greater diversity exists in soil types, climate, topography cropping and farming situations. The jurisdiction includes dry-farming to heavy rainfall and irrigated area. Important crops of the region include sorghum, cotton, rice, pulses, chilli, sugarcane, groundnut, sunflower, wheat, safflower etc. The region is also known for many horticultural crops. Considerable progress has been registered in the field of education, research and extension from this University.

Simple steps to Apply Online

1. Download the information bulletin and read it carefully.

2. Download sample application.

3. Fill the online application form.

4. Upload photo, signature and left hand thumb impression & self declaration.

5. Download e-Callahan and make payment.

6. Print the final application.

Uploading the scanned copies of candidate’s photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression and self declaration

1. Scanned copy of Candidate’s photo, signature, left hand thumb impression and father’s / mother’s / Guardian’s signature.

2. All the scanned copies of images should be in jpg/jpeg format only.

3. All the scanned copies of images size should not be more than 40KB.

4. Photo image dimension should be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm only.

5. Signature and left hand thumb impression image dimension should be 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm only.

Admit Card 

University of Agricultural Sciences has issued the Admit Card / Hall Ticket for the Entrance Examination to be held as per the schedule. Candidates who submitted the application form with the prescribed application fee within the stipulated time can download their Admit Card / Hall Ticket using the official link below.

How to download the Hall Ticket / Admit Card?

1. Visit the official linkhttp://www.uasd.edu/ for PGET Hall Ticket / Admit Card as given above.

2. Fill the User Id & Password as generated at time of registration.

3. Enter the Security code as shown in the image.

4. Click the login button to enter the applicants area.

5. Look for the Download Admit Card link and click on the same.

6. The Admit card / Hall Ticket shall be displayed.

7. Save and Print the Admit card to appear in the PGET 2016.

Scheme of Examination

Entrance Examination will be conducted for Masters Degree on 02 July 2016 between 10.00 AM and 11.15 AM for 1st Preference subject and between 11:30 AM and 12:45 PM for 2nd Preference subject. Entrance Examination will be conducted for Doctoral degree on 03 July 2016 between 10:00AM and 11:15AM.

Candidates must write the Entrance Examination in the headquarters of the respective Universities from which they obtained their Bachelor’s/Masters degree.

Candidates from outside Karnataka state seeking admission for Ph.D programme can opt any center of their choice.

No separate intimation will be sent regarding the date/time of Entrance Examination.

Eligibility Criteria

For Admission to Master Degree

1. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in the concerned faculty with a minimum OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or its equivalent from a recognized.

2. Agricultural/Horticultural University or Deemed University recognized by ICAR. In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Cat-I, minimum of OGPA 6.00/10.00 pass in bachelor’s degree is adequate.

3. Candidate should produce character & conduct certificate issued by the Dean of respective Universities.

4. Candidate should have passed UG degree programme from any Farm University in Karnataka. Horanadu / Gadinadu Kannadigas should have passed a degree from an Agricultural/Horticultural University or Deemed University recognized by ICAR from anywhere in India.

5. All eligible candidates seeking admission to Masters degree programme, can apply for maximum of two subject and are required to appear for written entrance examination of 100 marks in the concerned subject and secure a minimum of 50 per cent ( 40 per cent in case of SC/ST & Cat-I ) to qualify in the entrance examination.

For Admission to Doctoral Degree Programme

1. A Masters degree in the concerned subject or an equivalent qualification from Agricultural/ Horticultural/Deemed Agricultural Universities / Institutes recognized by ICAR, New Delhi in terms of equivalent course duration, with CGPA of 2.50/4.00 (Trimester System) or OGPA of 7.50/10.00 (Semester System). In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Cat-I, the minimum CGPA required is 2.00/4.00 (Trimester System) or OGPA of minimum 7.00/10.00 (Semester System) to seek admission.

2. The candidates who have studied under Trimester system and are seeking admission for Ph. D programmes are required to compulsorily submit the equivalent percentage certificate (Masters degree) obtained from their respective Universities/Institutions.

3. Domicile requirement is not applicable for candidates of other states seeking admission to Ph. D programmes.

4. Provision is also made to admit five teachers / scientists under in-service quota for each of the Five Farm Universities not exceeding one seat per subject. The guidelines for admissions developed by UAS Bangalore shall be adopted by all other Universities. These candidates shall compulsorily forward their application through their employer within the last date prescribed for submission of filled in application, failing which their application will not be considered.

Mode of Admission

Merit list will be prepared based on the following criteria

1. Weight-age for performance in qualifying degree – 50%

2. Weight-age for performance in Entrance Examination – 50%

Instruction to Candidates

1. Check eligibility as indicated above before choosing two subjects for Masters degree & one subject for Doctoral degree programme for which application is made.

2. Admission/Hall Ticket Number will be allotted to all candidates and will be put up on the websites of the Five Farm Universities on 27.06.2016. The candidates should invariably enter the Admission/Hall Ticket Number on OMR Sheet used for answering questions.

3. Candidates must carry photo ID proof at the time of Entrance Examination. It may be ID card issued by College last attended, passport, Aadhar Card, Driving License or Voter ID card.

Candidates have to pay the prescribed fees online A/c No. 2737101017519 of the Comptroller, UAS, Bengaluru, immediately after the allotment of seats. After the last date, unfilled seats will be included in the notification for the next option entry. The Master’s/Doctoral degree candidates who opt to change the Subject/College/University during second and subsequent online allotment need to pay the difference in fees of the respective Universities.

4. Fees once paid shall not be refunded. However, if a candidate cancels admission, the Caution Money paid will be refunded after following the respective Universities procedures.

5. Request for change of Center for appearing in the Entrance Examination will not be entertained.

6. Request for change in subject for I or II preference after filling the application will not be entertained.

Note:

1. If the marks scored among candidates are the same, then the OGPA in the qualifying examination shall be the basis for determining the merit.

2. Candidates should upload all the required documents before the stipulated last date for online submission & should produce all the originals at the time of registration of course.

3. The provisionally selected candidates for Masters & Ph. D degree programme shall pay the prescribed fee on or before the last date specified and confirm the admission. Payment shall be made through online to Account number: 2737101017519 in the favor of Comptroller UAS-(B).

4. The provisionally selected candidates should register the courses at their respective colleges/Universities on or before 22-08-2016.

Instruction to the candidates allotted the seats in the second round

Candidates allotted the seats in second round have to download the e-Callahan and pay the prescribed fees in Canara bank on or before 03 Sep 2016 (during the bank hours). Download the admit card after 4 to 6 hours after payment of the fees. Candidates downloaded the admit card should report to the respective Colleges/Universities on or before 06 Sep 2016.

The higher optional seat allotted candidates shall report to the respective Colleges / Universities on or before 06 Sep 2016 through downloading the new admit card if fees is already paid.

Those who have not paid the fees shall pay the prescribed fees and download the admit card and then report to the respective Colleges /Universities on or before 06 Sep 2016.

Special category students allotted the seats/allotted higher optional seats are also informed to follow the above guidelines.
