About University

The University became operational from February 1st 1972.Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) came into existence on February 24th 1971 by the Act 33 of 1971 of the Kerala State Legislature, entitled 'The Agricultural University Act, 1971'. The Kerala Agricultural University won the Performance Award of ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) for the third time in a row. Earlier the University has won this prize during 2007-08 and 2008-09.In the year 2001, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research has adjudged the Kerala Agricultural University as the best performing University among the thirty five State Agricultural Universities and deemed Universities in the country.

Admission And Eligibility Criteria


  • B.Tech
Candidate should have qualified 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • MBA
Candidate must have a graduate degree including professional graduate degree from any Indian/Foreign Universities recognized by AICTE/UGC with minimum 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST candidates) from SSLC onwards under traditional system.
  • B.Sc
Candidate should have passed your 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% in either the combination of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • M.Sc
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in the respective subject/ equivalent degree recognised by KAU with an OGPA of 6.50/10.00 for General Category candidates and 6.00/10.00 for SC/ST candidates.
  • M.Tech
Candidate must have a bachelor degree in Agricultural Engineering or an equivalent degree recognized by KAU with an OGPA of 6.50/10.00 for General Category and 6.00/10.00 for SC/ST candidates.

Fee Structure

  • B.Tech - 12,775 per year.
  • MBA - 60,500  per year.
  • B.Sc - 12,775  per year.
  • B.Sc + M.Sc - 1,00,120  per year.
  • M.Sc - 22,050  per year.
  • M.Tech - 17,000  per year.
