Directorate of Technical Education, Assam was established at 1960. Now there are four Govt. Engineering Colleges and 10 Polytechnic Institutions under this Directorate. In the Technical Education front, there has been phenomenal growth in the recent past. The first Engineering College – Assam Engineering College was established in 1956 at Guwahati and the first Diploma Institution- Assam Textile Institution was established in at Guwahati Establishment of Assam Engineering Institute and later establishment of Assam Engineering College was the beginning of Technical Education in the State of Assam.
Assam JMEE 2016 or Assam Joint MCA Entrance Test was conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam. Examination Fee
Examination Fee for JMEE 2016 will be Rs. 1000/-(One thousand only) which will have to deposited through Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, Technical Education, Assam payable at State bank of India, Kahilipara branch, Guwahati.
How to Apply
1. Candidate seeking admission to the Examination (JMEE-2016) must apply online at this website (www.dteassam.in) or link given above.
2. Before applying Online, candidates are advised to go through the instructions.
3. Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply online much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection / inability / failure to log on to the website.
4. Before applying Online, candidates should have a bank draft of Rs. 1000/-(One thousand only) drawn in favor of The Director, Technical Education, Assam payable at State bank of India, Kahilipara Branch, Guwahati. Information regarding bank draft will be required at the time of filling the online application form.
5. Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the scanned passport size photograph and signature in JPEG format with file size of less than 100 kb.
6. Candidates are advised to furnish correct information in the Application Form. Candidates should fill the application carefully, once the application is filled in completely, candidate are to click the Submit button. No change/edit will be allowed after submission of the Online Form.
7. No change of Centre of Examination will be allowed under any circumstance. Hence, the candidates should select the centres carefully and indicate the same correctly in their application.
8. When the data is saved, an application number will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the application number and print their application form. In case the candidate is unable to print at the time of submission, he/she can also print it later by logging in to their account with application number and date of birth. The same method will be used to print the Admit Card.
9. After registering online candidates have to take a Print-out of the system generated online application form. The hard copy of the application form duly signed by the Candidate along with the demand draft should reach on or before schedule date through Speed-Post to :

10. The envelope containing the Application Form should be superscribed “JOINT MCA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2016” with your application number.
Eligibility Criteria for appearing the Joint MCA Entrance Examination
1. Age between 20 years to 26 years on 1st day of July 2016.
2. Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of Minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation. The candidate must pass Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at Graduation.
3. A minimum of 50% marks must be scored in the Qualifying Degree Examination (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category).
4. Candidates appearing in their final examination may also apply for provisional consideration. Such student will have to give an undertaking that he/ she shall be able to produce final mark sheet/ certificate of qualifying examination within 2 (two) months of taking admission failing which the admission of the student shall automatically stand cancelled. Also, such candidate will have to produce all mark sheets up to 5th semester in degree level for verification during Counseling as documentary evidence that he/ she has cleared all subjects up to the 5th semester.

Admit Cards/Hall Tickets can be downloaded from the website by putting the Application Number and Date of Birth of the Candidate or through the direct link provided below. It is for information of all concerned that the date of the Joint MCA Entrance Examination (JMEE) 2016 is hereby deferred because of some official reasons. The new date of Examination will be 02 July 2016 (Saturday) in lieu of 26 June 2016. The Examination timing will be as printed in the Admit Card.

Exam Pattern
There will be Joint Admission Examination for Selection consisting of a Single Paper of 3 hours duration, which will consist of the following Sections:
- Mathematics : 30 Questions
- Reasoning : 30 Questions
- English : 20 Questions
- Fundamental of Computers : 20 Questions
Questions will be MCQ type. Every Question will carry 4 (four) mark each. 4 (four) marks will be awarded for correct answer and 1(one) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Third Round Counselling JMEE 2016 –
In continuation to the 1st & 2nd Counselling held on 22 July & 11 Aug 2016, a 3rd Counselling against a few vacant seats (as shown below) has been arranged on 13 Aug 2016 at Assam Engineering College, Jalukbari, Guwahati – 13, at 11:30 AM.

Important Instruction
1. At the time of counselling every candidate needs to produce the following documents in Original.
2. Permanent Resident Certificate.
3. Caste / Category Certificates (if applicable).
4. Pass Certificate of Degree Examination.
5. All Mark Sheets and Pass Certificates from HSLC onward.
6. Gap Certificate (if applicable).
7. Age proof Certificate.
8. Admit Card of JMEE 2016.
9. Candidates failing to be present on the date and time specified will forfeit his/her Seat and the Seat will be allotted to the Candidate next to him/her in the Merit List.
10. The Merit of the Bracketed Candidates will be decided based on the Percentage of Overall marks scored in Qualifying Degree Examination.
