Application Form

According to the notification published by IIMC, application form 2016 for the entrance exam for admissions into PG Diploma courses, is available as per the schedule. The direct link to download the application form is provided below.

Entrance exam for IIMC Admission 2016 is scheduled to be held on 29 May and 30 May 2016.

Application Fee

  • Rs 1200/- for General category.
  • Rs 1100/- for SC/ST/OBC/PH category

Instructions for IIMC application form filling and submission

For Offline Process

1. Application forms and prospectus can be obtained on payment of Rs. 1200/- for general category and Rs. 1100/- for SC/ST/OBC/PH category through a demand draft only, drawn on any scheduled bank payable to Registrar IIMC at New Delhi, from IIMC New Delhi or IIMC Dhenkanal (Odisha).

2. Request for application forms should be accompanied by a Demand Draft & a self-addressed stamped (Rs. 70/-) envelope (27×17 cm).

3. Candidate please note that in case you are applying offline, using a downloaded application form, you must fill up separate application form for each of the courses applied for.

For Online Process

1. The application form can be downloaded from official website: www.iimc.gov.in or the link to be provided above.

2. Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply using Online Application Form much before the closing date and not to wait until the last date to avoid congestion on the web server on account of heavy load on internet/website.

3. No correspondence will be entertained for any matter for which the last date has been expired.

4. Before applying On-Line, keep the following information/codes ready with yourself like; Subject name, Exam Centre, Date of Birth, Marks obtained etc.

5. Application being rejected on the grounds of bad quality of uploaded Photograph & Signature.

6. Upload Photograph of Applicant (Allowed filed size: 10-20KB, Allowed File Type: jpeg/jpg).

7. Upload Signature of Applicant (Allowed filed size: 10-20KB, Allowed File Type: jpeg/jpg).

8. After filling the online application form, you will be directed to the payment gateway, in case you wish to pay the application fee electronically.

9. Candidates can fill the form more than one for each course, a separate form is required to be submitted for the said courses.

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Candidate should be Citizen of India  are eligible for the PG Diploma Courses.

2. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Those who have appeared / are appearing for a degree examination are also eligible to apply. If selected, their admission will be subject to their producing at least a provisional certificate in original from their college / university before 31 August 2016, failing which the provisional admission will stand cancelled.

3. For general category candidates: 01 Aug 1991 or later.

4. For SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates, the date is 01 Aug 1986 or later.

5. For OBCs it is 01 Aug 1988 or later.

Admit Card  for IIMC Entrance Exam 2016

IIMC Entrance Exam 2016 Admit Card has been released by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. This document is also known as the hall ticket and issued to those candidates who have submitted the application form on time, correctly. How to download Admit Card

1. Visit the official link given above as applicable to reach the respective Admit Card download page
Offline Applicants need to select the course, enter Date of Birth, Mobile No. or Application No. correctly.

2. Online Applicants need to select the course, enter the Unique ID, Date of Birth.

3. Click ‘Submit’ button and look for the ‘Download Admit Card’ link.

4. Click the link and the Admit Card will be displayed.

5. Save and Print the Admit Card to appear in the IIMC Entrance Test 2016.

Note : All candidates should bring with them HB Pencil and Eraser etc. for the entrance examination. If any candidate does not have/misplaced the unique ID number. He/She may contact us immediately at 011-26742069 between 10 am to 5 pm from Monday to Saturday.

IIMC Entrance Exam 2016 Pattern

Pattern for the written examination for IIMC 2016 Admissions – There is no standardized pattern for the written examination. However, candidates will be judged on the following parameters.

For Journalism Courses

  • General Awareness, including understanding of social dynamics; interest in social and cultural history; awareness of legal and constitutional provisions, rights of citizens debates on development issues especially of health, education and ecology and economy; awareness about international developments and their impact on India.

The written entrance examination will be held on an all-India basis at New Delhi, Ahmedabad (Gujrat),Aizawl (Mizoram), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Bangalore (Karnataka), Bhopal (MP), Chennai (TN), Guwahati (Assam), Jammu and Srinagar (J&K), Hyderabad (AP & Telangana), Kolkata (W.B.), Kochi (Kerala) Lucknow (U.P.), Mumbai, Nagpur (Maharashtra) and Patna (Bihar), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Raipur (Chattisgarh)

Note: A centre for written entrance examination, once allotted, will not be changed under any circumstances.

Selection Process

1. Eligible candidates will be called at their own expense for a written entrance examination on 29th May 2016 at New Delhi/ Ahmedabad/ Aizawl/ Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Bhubaneswar/ Chennai/ Guwahati/ Jammu/ Hyderabad/ Kolkata/ Kochi/ Lucknow/ Mumbai/ Nagpur/ Patna/ Ranchi/ Raipur/ Srinagar. The Institute reserves the right to call any candidate for entrance examination at any centre (other than his/her choice) for administrative reasons. The entrance examination for the course in Odia Journalism will be held on 30th May 2016 at Bhubaneswar only.

2. Candidates who appear in the written examination will be ranked on the basis of the marks obtained, a shortlist based on merit will be prepared for each of the courses (including a separate shortlist for the reserved seats in each course). The short-listed candidates will be called for an interview/group discussion during the last week of June/first week of July 2016 in New Delhi at the candidates’ own expense. The short-listed candidates for the course in Odia Journalism will be called for interview/ group discussion during the last week of June/first week of July 2016 in Dhenkanal at the candidates’ own expense.

3. The list of candidates to be admitted to the courses will be prepared on the basis of the combined marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and in the interview / group discussion. The weightage for the written examination and the interview / group discussion will be 85:15.
