Assam Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2016

Assam Polytechnic Admission Test → It also known as Assam PAT 2016, is being conducted by DTE Assam. Assam Polytechnic 2016 admissions shall be done on the basis of this test in various Polytechnics/ Institutions. Director of Technical Education (DTE) has released notification for admission into Diploma Courses in the following Polytechnics of Assam / outside Assam (against seat allotted by Govt. of India) for the session 2016-17 (including Modern Office Management Course of Girls’ Polytechnic, Guwahati).

Admission Details 

The Polytechnics provide facilities for study in Diploma Courses in Engineering and Technology after H.S.L.C. (10+). The main objective of the Polytechnic courses of studies is to produce technicians at supervisory level to meet the demand of technical manpower in various field of development. Here, details and guidelines are given towards Technical Education to enable the young boys and girls to build their career by getting themselves admitted into various courses of Technical Studies available at the State Polytechnics of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for Assam Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2016 is briefly explained here. Before filling up the application form, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the Assam Polytechnic 2016 Eligibility Criteria as per their category.

Residential eligibility → Candidates must be an Indian Citizen and Permanent resident of Assam.

Educational Qualification → For admission into Diploma Courses the candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject with the following minimum marks prescribed.

1. Mathematics and Science for General Candidates → 40% marks (average)

2. Mathematics and Science for Schedule Caste candidates → 35 % marks (average) 

3. Mathematics and Science for Schedule Tribe candidates → 33% marks (average)

• For Modern Office Management Course in Girls’ Polytechnic, Guwahati → Candidate must pass the H.S. S.L.C. Examination (XII Standard) (Arts, Science or Commerce) from AHSEC or its Equivalent (Girls only).

Age limit

1. For all courses except Modern Office Management →  General category candidate must be born on or after 01 August 1996 and SC / ST candidate on or after 01 August 1993.

2. For Modern Office Management Course in Girls Polytechnic, Guwahati → General category candidate must be born on or after 01 August 1994 and SC / ST candidate on or after 01 August 1991.

3. For Institutions outside Assam (Seats allotted by Govt. of India) → Upper age limit is 21 years as on 01 August 2016.


Examination Pattern

• Assam Polytechnic Entrance Exam for all courses except MOM.

Maximum marks → 100 marks for multiple choice questions.
Total duration → 2 hours.
Subjects → Science, and Mathematics.

• Assam Polytechnic Entrance Exam for MOM.

Maximum marks – 100 marks for objective and subjective questions.
Total duration – 3 hours.
Subjects – General English & General Knowledge.

Examination  Center

Assam Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2016, will be held at various test centers. Admission Test will be held at Mangaldoi, Barpeta, Nalbari, Tezpur. North Lakhimpur and in all the Polytechnic Institutions of Assam (Sl. No 1 to Sl. No 10 above) and Junior Technical School, Sivasagar.
