Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance examination conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

How to register for CMAT 2017?
Registering for CMAT is a 3 Step process as mentioned below:
Step 1
Read Instructions and Self Registration: First time you will enter as New User. Here you will read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and proceed. Now you need to do Self Registration. Here you need to enter few basic details. Please ensure you enter the correct details on this Self Registration form and verify it before you click on SUBMIT button on this page. Once you Submit this page, you cannot edit any data entered on this page. Submitting this page will generate a unique 6 digit password. This password will be shown on your screen and will be sent to you via e-mail and sms. From now onward, whenever you wish to login to the registration portal, you will come as an Existing User and login with your e-mail id and this unique 6 digit password. This completes your self registration.
Step 2
Payment Process: You can do the payment in either of the two modes mentioned below.
Mode i
Online Payment: Candidates can select Online Payment mode and then do the payment using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking.
Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and sms. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration process.
Mode ii
Cash Payment in SBI bank: The Indian candidates can select this option to pay by CASH at any of the designated SBI bank branch.
only for payment in Rs for appearing in test in India. Once you select this option and proceed, you will see a challan on your screen with your details already filled in it. You need to take 3 Print outs of this Challan, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk in to your nearest SBI bank branch located in India with CASH on the next day of generation of Challan. Cash Deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your Challan generation.
E.g. If you Generate and Print the Challan copies on 3rd November, 2015, then walk in to the nearest SBI bank branch with Challan copies and Cash from 4th November, 2015 onward. Similarly if you print the Challan copies on 4th November, 2015, then walk in to the nearest SBI bank branch with Challan copies and CASH from 5th November 2015 onward.
In return to the Cash Deposit, the bank will give you one copy of Challan with their stamp and a Journal number written on it. Please ensure the JOURNAL number written is clearly visible before you leave the bank.
Now that you have deposited the cash and got the acknowledgment challan, you need to wait for 48 hours. In these 48 hours, your payment will get updated in the registration portal.
You will receive an e-mail and SMS confirming that your payment data has got updated in the registration portal. Then you need to re login to the portal proceed with the remaining part of registration process
Step 3
Now that you are done with the payment, you need to fill the remaining part of the form. Once you have filled the complete form, we suggest you once again check the complete data entered by clicking on view/modify button. Clicking on view/modify will allow you to modify your data in case you want to modify
Once you are sure that all the data entered is accurate, click on Proceed button. There you will have to confirm by ticking a check box that “I have checked all the entries filled in by me and found them correct” and click on submit. After submit, you need to accept a declaration and click on I Agree. The system will re-confirm to you for submit. Once you confirm, your form will get finally submitted and no change in the data is possible after this submit.
You will see a message on your screen stating “Thank you for successfully registering for the AICTE CMAT 2017 exam. Please login from official website to download your exam admit card. For latest updates, please visit www.aicte-cmat.in”

Eligibility Criteria
The candidates shall have to satisfy all the eligibility conditions so as to apply for the examination. The CMAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria are illustrated here. The aspirant must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria at the time of applying for CMAT 2017.
1. Indian nationals are eligible to apply for common management admission test.
2. The candidate must have completed the graduation level education in any discipline as per CMAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria.
3. Final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2017-18 can also apply for CMAT online exam.
Admit Card CMAT 2017
Admit card of CMAT 2017 will be available for download here in the month of January 2017 (date will be announced shortly). Candidates have to log onto the CMAT website www.aicte-cmat.in with their registered User ID.

Exam Pattern for CMAT 2017
As CMAT 2017 is one of the most prestigious and toughest exams, therefore, it is required to know the exam pattern of the same. CMAT is the online test which is conducted in AICTE. The candidates are required to go through the exam paper carefully so as to familiarize with the same. The CMAT 2017 Exam Pattern is illustrated here.
Exam Pattern
- Duration: 180 minutes (3 hours) will be given to solve the exam.
- Sections: The Exam paper is divided into four sections.
- No. of Questions: There are 100 total questions in the exam.
- Type: The exam is objective type with multiple options and only one possible answer.
- Mode: CMAT 2017 is an online based exam.
Marking Scheme
- For each correct answer, FOUR (4) marks will be awarded.
- For each wrong response, ONE (1) mark will be subtracted.
- The exam will be of total 400 marks.

Answer Key CMAT 2017
The CMAT 2017 Answer Key may not be issued after the common management admission test. AICTE holds CMAT as an online exam and thus does not make available answer key. If there is a change in how the exam is held this year, and answer key is released, answer key of CMAT will then contain the accurate responses to the questions asked in the exam paper. In case any coaching center also releases it, it will be released after exam. The answer key is often released by the unofficial sources which will be easily available over the internet. The aspirant can easily estimate their marks with the help of the released unofficial answer keys.
Result and Merit List of AICTE CMAT 2017

How to check CMAT 2017 Result?
Procedure to check result of CMAT 2017 is given below.
- Go to the official website http://aicte-cmat.in/ of AICTE CMAT. Navigate to the result and merit list link. OR Click on the check result link given on this page.
- Check your score and percentile against the roll number.
- Log in to the candidate profile to download the AICTE CMAT 2017 result score card.
The cutoffs will be released with the results of admission and seat allotment. Cut off CMAT 2017 refers to minimum scores which must be obtained by the candidates in the written exam in order to get merit listed. The cutoffs will be released separately for all the reservation categories and general category. Once the CMAT 2017 cutoff has been released, the candidates will be able to form an idea of the college they would be able to apply for. This idea can be made more concrete by comparing the cutoffs for the previous year.
Selection Rounds after Results CMAT 2017
1. Once the results have been released, the candidates that have qualified the exam will be called for the next rounds of selection. The next rounds will be GD and PI or written ability test in the CMAT 2017 selection process.
2. The GD will be a standard Group Discussion which may comprise of discussion on a topic allotted prior the GD. The candidates may or may not be given some time to jot down a few points.
3. Generally, the GD is not kept as the elimination round in most of the colleges. But, the selection process of CMAT 2017 at the college level will be specific to the policies of the college itself. Hence, the variation can be there.
4. After the GD, the candidates will be called one by one for the personal interview or analysis of the written ability which will also vary from college to college. The candidates will be judged on the basis of answering ability, the presence of mind, general knowledge and perspective and the overall fitness of the candidate in the profession and studies.
5. The final merit will be released at the college level and its release will mark the completion of CMAT 2017 Selection Process.
