About University

The University of Mysore was established on 27th July, 1916 during the benevolent reign of the Maharaja of Mysore, His Highness Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar (1884-1940). The genesis of the University of Mysore stems from a five year long in-depth reading and analysis on higher education across the globe. The mission of the University of Mysore, laid down in the 1916 regulations published in the Mysore .During the post-independent period, from 1947-1960, the University enacted new Act of 1956 which ushered in academic autonomy.The National Assessment and Accreditation Council, an autonomous body of the University Grants Commission (UGC) had accorded the university five-star status.It has recently been reaccredited as A+, the first one to be accorded that status in India.In addition, the Eighth Plan Review Committee of the UGC has recommended to the State and Central governments that it be upgraded to a `National Centre for Excellence'.

Admission And Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be completed Graduate or equivalent.

B.COM+ L.L.B

Candidate should have passed 10+2 or Equivalent.

B.A + L.L.B

Candidate should have passed 10+2 or Equivalent

B.P.ED

Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum aggregate of 50%. The candidate should have participated in Inter-College/Inter-Zonal/District/School Competitions in sports and games recognized by Government of India/AIU/IOA/SGFI.

M.Sc

Candidate Should be Graduate and having bachelors degree obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India. A Relaxation of 5% aggregate is there for SC/ST candidates.

Candidates must possess degree of this university or any other recognized university with Political science/public administration as optional/compulsory subject with 45% of marks and 40% for SC/ST candidates.

M.Tech

Candidates must have passed B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Geology Science Polymer, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, Sericulture, Computer Science, Food Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Forensic Science)
