About University

University of Kashmir (UoK) is a State University which was established  in 1948. By an ordinance promulgated by the Governor of the State of J&K on 5 September 1969 - which was subsequently replaced by an Act of the State Legislature and was published in the Government Gazette on 10th November 1969, the University of Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two full-fledged Universities : the University of Jammu and the University of Kashmir. Accordingly, the statutes and regulations of the Jammu and Kashmir University Act, 1965 were modified. UoK is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Admission And Eligibility Criteria 

• B.Tech

Students who have minimum 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

• MBA

Students with a bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks.

• L.L.B

Students with 45% marks in graduation are required for general category and 40% for reserved categories.

• B.Ed

The minimum eligibility criterion for admission to B. Ed. is that the student must be a graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Also, if the student has completed their postgraduate degree, then minimum 55% marks in aggregate is the criterion.

• B.PHARM

Students applying for Bachelor of Pharmacy should have 50% in 10+2 .

• M.A 

Candidate must have passed graduation with minimum 50%.

• M.Sc

Candidate must have passed graduation with minimum 50%.

• M.Com

Candidate must have passed graduation with minimum 50%.
