About University

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies (KUFOS) is an autonomous public funded-institution established on 20th November 2010. KUFOS is the first fisheries university in the country. The headquarters of KUFOS with its enchanting blue building stands in harmony with the greenery at Panangad.The College of Fisheries, established in the year 1979, was a constituent college of the Kerala Agricultural University. KUFOS is the first University in India exclusively dedicated to studies in fisheries and allied disciplines.

Admission And Eligibility Criteria

  • M.F.Sc
 Candidate shold have Bachelor‟s degree in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with an OGPA of 6.5 /10.0 (In the case of SC/ST candidates an OGPA of 5 .5/10.0).
  • M.Sc
Candidate must have passed in B.Sc. with 50% or 6.5/10.0 or 2.2/4.0 marks
  • MBA
Candidate must have passed in Graduate in Science, Arts, Commerce or professional graduates from Indian/Foreign Universities recognized by AICTE/UGC/ICAR/KUFOS with minimum 50% marks in traditional system ( 4 0% to SC /ST Candidates) or a minimum OGPA of 5 .5 /10.0.
  • M.Tech
Candidate must have passed in B.tech in (Integrated Coastal Zone management/ Civil Engineering/ Marine Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/ Harbour Engineering/Coastal Engineering) M.Sc in Marine Oceanography/Marine geology/Marine biology or any branch of marine or ocean sciences, M.Fsc. A minimum mark of 50% mark is required for the qualifying degree. .
  • L.L.M
Candidates who have passed the LL.B. Degree Examination of any University in the State of Kerala or of any other University recognized as equivalent there to and has secured not less than 55% of the marks in the aggregate (50% for SC/ST Students) shall be eligible to be considered for admission.
  • B.F.Sc
Candidates need to secure minimum 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 under a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and minimum 50% marks in Biology.
