About University

Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidhyalaya was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh through legislature by an Act(9, 1991) on February 12, 1991. Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV)is also known as Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday University but it's more popular name is Chitrakoot University. MGCGV was established on 12th Feb. 1991 on the banks of the holy river Mandakini through a separate MP Govt. Act (9, 1991) on the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri at Chitrakoot, District Satna (M.P.).
