AP LAWCET Common Entrance Test 2016

Sri Krishnadevaraya University began as a Post-Graduate Centre of Sri Venkateswara University in 1968. The Post Graduate Centre was given Autonomy in 1976 and was elevated to the status of a University in 1981. Initially, the University functioned as a unitary University and was conferred the status of affiliating University in 1987.The University college offers 39 Post – Graduate and 3 Under – Graduate courses through 29 departments. The University College of Engineering and Technology has been offering B.Tech and M.Tech Programmers in four Engineering branches since 2006-07. The University College of Education offers B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses.
AP LAWCET-2016 and AP PGLCET- 2016 are the Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Tests for admission into LL.B 3/5 Year Law Courses and LL.M Courses in the Universities in Andhra Pradesh and their affiliated colleges. These tests are being conducted by Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad.

Note: with late fee of Rs. 5000/- Candidates have to write the entrance Test in Anantapuramu only.

AP LAWCET Entrance Test Pattern

1. The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s General Knowledge, Mental ability, current affairs and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120 and the duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120. The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu. There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.

1. Part – A : Consists of 30 question carrying 30 marks : General Knowledge and Mental Ability
2. Part – B : Consists of 30 question carrying 30 marks : Current Affairs
3. Part – C : Consists of 60 question carrying 60 marks : Aptitude for the Study of Law

2. For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Degree Level.

3. The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the Part of the Student is assumed.

4. The Questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items.

5. Each Question contains four alternative answers numbered as 1,2,3 and 4. Candidates have to exercise their choice in answering the question.

Regional Centers of Entrance Test for 3 year / 5 year LL.B. Courses

Anantapuramu, Kadapa, Guntur, Kurnool, Nellore, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Note: If the total number of candidates in any center is less than 100, the Convener reserves the right to cancel the center and in such case the candidates will be allotted to the other nearest center.

AP LAWCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy Local/Unreserved status requirement as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 and the amendments made thereto from time to time.

2. Three year LL.B / B.L. Course : The Candidates for 3 year LL.B. should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned. If any candidate secured less than 45% in graduation he should have passed any additional graduation or post graduation with 45%.

3. Five Year LL.B./B.L. Course : The Candidates for 5 year LL.B. should have passed two year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P.

4. There is no maximum age limit prescribed for admission into 3 year and 5 years LL.B.Course.

Note :There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the above qualifying examinations for 3 year / 5 year Law course in favor of the candidates belonging to SC / ST.
A Candidate appearing for the above qualifying examinations may also take the LAWCET in anticipation of results. In case of such students, their entry shall be subject to their securing eligible marks in the said qualifying examinations.
The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation / post graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission into the law courses.

AP LAWCET 2016 General Instruction

1. The question paper booklet given to the candidate shall consist of 120 multiple choice type questions in THREE different parts with four responses given to each question out of which only one response is correct. Candidates shall mark the correct answer in the OMR response sheet by shading or darkening the appropriate circle with Ball Point Pen (Blue or Black) for this purpose.

2. A Candidate appearing for the above qualifying examinations may also take the LAWCET in anticipation of results. In case of such students, their entry shall be subject to their securing eligible marks in the said qualifying examinations.
