NEET PG 2017 –Details about Dates, Eligibility, Application Form

NEET PG  →  It is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. NBE is conducting NEET PG 2017 for MD / MS / PG Diploma, and MDS programmes. This year, NEET PG 2017 shall be the single common post graduate medical entrance exam and NEET MDS 2017 will be dental entrance exam for all states and colleges (with certain exceptions).  Those candidates who are Eligible can fill and submit application form of NEET PG 2017 as per schedule.

Some  important events and dates are given below

• Commencement of online application form submission  →  September 26, 2016

• End of submitting application form of NEET PG 2017, as well as NEET MDS 2017 → October 31, 2016

• Conduct of NEET PG 2017 entrance exam December → 5, 2016, to December 13, 2016

• Conduct of NEET MDS 2017 entrance exam November →  30, 2016, to December 3, 2016

• Declaration of results for both NEET PG 2017, and NEET MDS → By January 15, 2017

• Notification  About Eligibility Of  PG



→ Those students who want to take admission in PG fulfill the  following points given below.

1.You require a MBBS degree / Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from a recognized medical college or institute. A recognized institute means that it is as per provisions of Indian Medical Council and degree is valid.

2. In addition you also need permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS or equivalent qualification that Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council has issued.

3. Internship: You are likely to complete one year internship on or before 31 March 2017.

• Notification About Eligibility Of MDS



→ Those students who want to take admission in MDS courses fulfill following points given below.

1. In the first place you need BDS degree / provisional BDS pass certificate from recognized Dental college or institute. College from where you receive degree should be recognized as per provisiona of Dentists’ Act 1948.

2. Possessing either permanent or provisional registration certificate of BDS qualification issued by Dental Council of India or State Dental Council.

3.Internship: You have either completed, or are likely to complete one year internship on or before 31 March 2017.

PG application form and their admit card

• Application form

Candidate should determine that they  are eligible, they  can apply for NEET entrance exam. Online application form is to be available from 26 September 2016. From that date, and until 31 October 2016, you can register at www.nbe.edu.in. Also last date to apply for both are October 31, 2016. It is advised to avoid last minute rush and apply early.

1. Application fee is Rs 3750 for all General and OBC candidates.
2. Application fee is Rs 2750 for all SC / ST / PWD / PH candidates.

Admit card

Right after applying, candidates can download their  admit card for exam. Keep NEET PG 2017 Admit Card safely considering you will need it to appear in exam. Also you will know exam center, date and time, reporting through it.

Note → Also note that once you have completed registration you will get certain log in credentials. Note them down. You will need them at time of downloading admit card, checking results, and various other events.

PG Exam Pattern

Those candidates who will appear for NEET PG 2017 or NEET MDS 2017, knowing exam pattern is important. This plays an important role in preparing for exam. Furthermore you can practice mock tests based on similar pattern to get a feel of exam.

NEET PG 2017 will be a computer based test. Exam will be held at 41 cities across India. Following last year’s trend of AIPGMEE, all questions will be multiple choice questions. At the moment, notification does not highlight exact number of questions. However as per news reports, exam will have 300 multiple choice questions.

PG Syllabus

• For the purpose of NEET PG preparation, you can cover all subjects / topics taught in graduation curriculum.

• In other words, for NEET PG 2017, syllabus contains all topics which medical colleges teach as per Graduate Medical Education Regulation notified by the Medical Council of India.

• Likewise, for NEET MDS 2017, syllabus covers all topics which dental colleges teach as per Graduate Dental Education Regulation notified by the Dental Council of India.

• Another interesting point you may want to know is that this year there is to be single exam for NEET PG and DNB CET.

PG  Result

Please ensure you have registration data handy to check NEET PG Result 2017 or NEET MDS Result 2017. 

→ NEET PG / MDS confirmation ID or Testing ID, Date of Birth; exactly as you had entered during registration and also as it appears in admit card

→ As per exam notification, you will be able to check results on or before 15 January 2017. This means that NBE will evaluate papers, compile data, and declare results almost within a month after exam. You can check result and also download score card online.

→ There is a minimum cut off for NEET PG and NEET MDS. Although notification does not indicate cut off, going by last year’s data, following are expected to be cut offs.

→ In order to participate in NEET PG Counselling for MD / MS / PG Diploma, candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks.
