Notification for Admission in OJEE MBBS BDS through NEET 2016

The MBBS and BDS admissions in Odisha shall be done on the basis of NEET 2016. All India Pre Medical Test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education will be the basis of admission in 85% state quota seats.
The  Counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for the academic session 2016-17 will be done by taking qualified state candidates Given below.

Note :- Candidates allotted seat in 2nd round can come to JEE cell on any of these two dates as per their convenience (24 Sep & 25 Sep 2016).


Important Instructions for Second Round Counselling 2016

1. Please go through the vacancy position available for this round.

2. Candidates registered but not verified their documents in 1st round, If interested can get their documents verified in schedule dates.

3. After successful verification, their names shall be added to the existing merit list.

4. All the merit listed candidates shall be allowed for 2nd round counseling and choice filling.

5. Candidates who have already taken admission in 1st round and do not want to change their course or college need not participate in 2nd round or any subsequent rounds of counseling.

6. Candidates who want to change their course or college in 2nd round have to fill choices again and lock.

7. Candidates are advised to fill in all possible better choices available. A seat in a particular category or college which becomes Available during the counseling by way of surrender or change of course and college by any candidate will be filled up in spot counseling strictly as per merit and choice.

8. Such candidates if allotted a seat in 2nd round as per their choice locked, the candidate has to report at OJEE cell for revised admission as per new allotment, on scheduled date. If the candidate has deposited the admission fees in earlier round shall deposit the
differential fees if any or will get the refund of differential fees i.e. for changing from Govt. to Private institution or from Private to Govt.institution respectively). On such revised admission the previous admission will be cancelled automatically and the vacancy shall be filled up in next round counseling.

9. NB: Candidates who have already taken admission are advised to be careful while filling choices in 2nd round. While filling choice must fill better choice only than the previously admitted course or college.

10. Candidates who do not take any admission in 2nd round can participate in spot counselling.

11. After allotment, the candidates have to download the allotment letter and proceed to the OJEE Cell as per schedule, for provisional admission along with required fees and original documents.

Fee Structure

Fees for MBBS Course 

Govt. Institutions : Rs. 30,000/-
Private Institutions (Hi-tech MC) : Rs. 5,50.000/-


Fees for BDS Course 

Govt. Institutions : Rs. 30,000/-
Private Institutions (Hi-tech MCH) : Rs. 2,50.000/

Admission fees in shape of Bank Draft and College Leaving Certificate in original are mandatory and without them no admission shall be done.

The candidates will be issued a provisional admission letter duly signed by OJEE authority. Candidates have to proceed immediately to the respective institutions and submit the copy of admission letter for maintenance of records, application for hostel and deposition of any other fees as applicable to the institution concerned.

Application Form

Counseling shall be done in 85% of total seats in Government/private Medical/Dental Colleges excluding deemed Universities. Instructions in this guidelines are subject to change with prior notice as per the decision of Govt./Counselling Committee.
Counseling shall be done by a Committee consisting of following members. Chairman OJEE, Vice-Chairman OJEE,Secretary OJEE, and Members(Joint DMET Odisha, and two OJEE Members)

Counseling Process

1. All the NEET-2016 qualified candidates having eligibility criteria as mentioned in clause ‘B’, must register online in the website of OJEE i.e. www.ojee.nic.in in MBBS/ BDS Admission section by creating own username and password. Candidates registered, are allowed to participate in all rounds of counselling. Without registration a candidate cannot participate in the counseling process at any level. The detail procedure shall be notified separately.


2. If a candidate has taken admission in a particular round but allotted another seat in subsequent round of counseling due to his /her participation and choice locking then the earlier admission is automatically cancelled. In such case if no seat is allotted in subsequent round then the earlier admission is retained.

3. Selected candidate if not taking provisional admission after being allotted in a particular round, his/her allotment will stand cancelled and the seat will be treated vacant for subsequent round. However he/ She can participate in subsequent round. In that case, while locking choices only better options shall be exercised. Example: If a candidate is allotted in MKCG in 1st round and in 2nd round, he/she is interested for SCB, then he/she must lock choice in SCB only. In case he/she also gives choice in VSS after SCB, then if SCB is not available, he/she will be allotted VSSMCH and admission to MKCG will be cancelled.

4. Candidates who have already taken admission in a particular reserved category are not allowed to change the seat to another category in the same college. There may be spot counseling if vacancy exists and all the interested candidates are required to be present in person with the prescribed fees. No authorization will be entertained under any circumstances during spot counselling.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidates must be of 17 years of age as on 31.12.2016 (must born before 01.01.2000) and there will be no upper age limit.

2. The candidates must be permanent native of Odisha. Every candidate has to produce Resident / Nativity certificate (Form No.-III, See Rule-3 of Govt. of Odisha) during certificate verification.

3. The candidate must have passed +2 Sc. and in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have secured minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at +2 Sc. level for General Candidate (GE). This minimum mark is 40% for SC/ST candidates and 45% for locomotary disability of lower limbs candidates. If Physically Challenged candidate is of SC/ST category, then required mark is 40%.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

The minimum qualifying mark for different category of candidates are as follows

1. General (GE) -145 (50th Percentile)

2. Physically Challenged (PC-GE)- 131(45th Percentile)

3. Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Scheduled Caste (SC) – 118(40th Percentile)

4. For Physically challenged candidates of SC/ST category-118 (40th Percentile)

Document required for verification at Nodal center

All Originals Documents along with set of self-attested photocopy has to be submitted. Candidate is advised to take back the original certificates after document verification. Nodal center will receive only photocopy of verified documents.

1. 10th board certificate and mark sheet.

2. +2 Sc. pass certificate and mark sheet.

3. College/School leaving certificate.

4. Nativity/Resident certificate of Odisha (Form–III, See Rule-3 of Govt. of Odisha).

5. SC/ST Certificate by birth issued by competent authority, Government of Odisha (See Rule-8(I)).

6. Green Card issued by Family Welfare Dept. Government of Odisha only.

7. Ex Service man Certificate issued by Rajya Sainik Board, Bhubaneswar.

8. For PC Candidates – Candidates interested to avail Physical Challenged category quota, must appear medical board on declared date at SCB Medical College, Cuttack. Report from Medical board is final and binding on candidate for getting PC quota seat and no other kind of documents are acceptable.

Important Guideline for Candidates

1. Admission will be done strictly as per merit.

2. Candidate willing to participate in this round of counselling should report at counselling hall in the schedule time as per his/her category/ rank. Only one person (guardian) will be allowed with the candidate to the counselling hall.

3. Candidates have to put their signature in an attendance sheet at the sitting hall.

4. Candidates coming after the schedule time will be allotted a seat/college from the balance seats available at that point of time taking merit into consideration.

5. Provisional Admission will be done at the venue of spot counselling. The candidates who have not taken admission in earlier rounds are advised to come with the documents mentioned below along with admission fees in shape of Bank Draft drawn in favor of “OJEE 2016”, payable at Bhubaneswar, failing which no admission will be made and the seat will be allotted to next candidate in merit.

6. Candidates who have already taken admission in previous rounds, participating in this round and getting upgraded, should pay the admission fees only if required (mentioned below).

7. During counselling if any seat is vacated by a candidate due to admission in another vacant seat, the same seat will be displayed at that point of time and will be available for admission for next candidate onward.

8. Candidate who take admission in any category in this round, will not be allowed for any further change.

9. The candidates who have taken earlier admission shall have to pay the differential fees if any or will get the refund of the differential fees while changing the course or college (Govt to private or vice versa).

10. Once all the vacant seats are filled up, counselling will be declared closed. Participation in spot counselling does not ensure admission. Seats are allotted only on merit and vacancy availability.
