Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) PG Admission → University has released notification from the eligible candidates for admission to the Master and Doctoral Degree programmes at constituent colleges of the KVAFS University for the Academic year 2016-17. Interested and Eligible candidates have to fill the downloaded application form on or before the last date of application.

Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University has published the list of provisionally selected candidates for Doctoral Degree Admission. Candidates can now check their name in the list on the official website or by a direct link that is posted on this page below.

Notification about application

Candidate can download  application form of Master and Doctoral Degree courses  from the University website: www.kvafsu.kar.nic.in or from the direct link provided below. Candidates are advised must ensure their eligibility and other conditions before filling the Application form.

Notification about application fee

 Candidate who belong to general category have to pay  Rs.600/ for SC/ST/ Rs 300 Cat-I, in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favor of Comptroller, KVAFSU, Bidar has to be paid along with the application.
The application completed in all respects including copies of transcripts / marks card / certificates etc., should be sent on or before the last daet of application till 5.00 pm to The Registrar, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal & Fisheries Sciences University, Nandinagar, P.B. No.6, Bidar – 585 401, Karnataka.

Note: The University shall not be responsible for any postal delay / non-delivery of application by the postal department / courier service.

Eligibility Criteria  Of Different Courses

• Masters Program me

→ Candidate shall possess a Bachelor degree in the respective subject from recognized University / institute on or before the due date mentioned.

→ Candidate shall have 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 5.50/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates at bachelor degree level.

→ A candidate for master degree program me should be a citizen of India and must have studied in any educational institution in Karnataka State for a period of seven academic years at any time up to the Bachelor degree as on 1st July of the admission year.

Not applicable candidates

 [ Those  candidates who are GOK, GOI, ICAR nominees, NRIs and Foreign Nationals (FN)]. However, in the event of candidates not available in a particular subject then the domicile requirement of 7 years could be relaxed to outside Sate candidates in respect of admission to Master degree program me of the University. The domicile requirement is not applicable for admission to Doctoral degree program me.

• Doctoral Program me

→ The candidates should possess Master Degree in respective subjects allied subject by the University * from recognized University / institute.

→ Candidate should have OGPA of 6.50/10 or equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I/ candidates at Master’s degree level (as per ICAR).

Reservation of Seats

• Reservation of seats in favor of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Category-I and Other Backward Categories will be ensured as per the reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka. Candidates who claim reservation should furnish a valid certificate issued by the competent authority.

• Twenty-five percent of seats are placed at the disposal of ICAR in master and doctoral degree programme for allotment to different categories in accordance with ICAR rules governing admission.

• A few seats are set apart for Foreign Nationals (FN) / Non – Resident Indians (NRIs) / NRI – sponsored candidates to Masters / Doctoral programmes. Candidates belonging to Foreign Nationals shall send their applications along with their bio-data through ICAR or Agencies / Consultants nominated by ICAR / GOI, New Delhi, through their embassies. The NRIs / NRI sponsored candidates should send their application along with their bio-data and proof of their NRI status, through Indian Embassies of respective countries.

→ A provision has made to reserve one seat per discipline master / doctoral degree program me for candidates deputed by Government of Karnataka / Government of India, wherever such degree program mes are offered (does not apply for single seat). The deputed Candidates shall compulsorily forward their application through their employer within the last date prescribed for submission of filled-in application for admission failing which their application shall not be considered for admission. Further, such candidates shall also submit their Study Leave / Deputation / Relief Order from competent authority for under taking higher studies compulsorily at the time of registration.

→ Memorandum of understanding with Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati for veterinary college, Bengaluru the either party shall depute / sponsor its faculty members limiting to one per department for prosecuting Ph. D studies as per its service rules in vogue, at the second party as per their usual admission procedure in force. However, such deputed /sponsored Candidates will be considered over and above the admission capacity and may not be clubbed along with other candidates.

→ The reservations of the seats in favor  of candidate belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka region will be ensured as per reservation policy of Government of Karnataka. Candidates who claim reservation should furnish valid certificate issued by the competent authority.

Process  of Selection & Examination  Pattern

• Master Degree Program me


Note:

→  Candidates securing less than 50% of total marks as calculated above shall not be allotted seat. While SC/ST/Cat-I candidates securing less than 35% marks shall not be allotted seat.

→ Candidates who have secured grades in 4 points scale should submit a copy of the certificate of equivalent percentage.

Examination  Pattern

→ All eligible candidates shall have to appear for a written test of 100 marks in one of the subject groups (Group A-D) listed under given intake. Nominees of ICAR and GOI, Foreign Nationals, NRIs and NRI sponsored candidates are exempted from taking the written test.

→ The written test for admission to Master degree program me will be of undergraduate level and will contain 100 objective type questions with four responses. Each question will carry 1.0 mark and the examination will be of 2 hours duration.

→ All questions in each group (Group A-D) shall be drawn equally from the subjects of that group.

→ Admission to entrance test does not confer on the candidates the right of admission to the Master program me.

→ Candidates appearing for the written test will have to come to the examination centre on their own expenses. University is not responsible for any expenses of the applicants irrespective of their eligibility / ineligibility.

• Doctoral Degree Program me



Note:

Examination  Pattern

→ All eligible candidates seeking admission to Doctoral degree program me shall have to appear for a written test on the subject which they have studied at Master degree level. The written test paper will contain 100 objective questions and each question will carry one mark. The duration of written test is 2 hours. ICAR/GOI nominees, Foreign Nationals, NRIs/NRI- sponsored are exempted from taking the written test.

→ Admission to entrance test does not confer on the candidate the right of admission to the Doctoral program me.

Counseling and detail about  Seats in both courses

• Master Degree

A common inter-se-merit for each group (Groups A-D) will be prepared and the admission committee will allot the seats subject wise in each group based on the merit and the existing reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka.

• Doctoral Degree

There will be no counseling for doctoral degree program me. A subject wise / over all inter-emerita list will be prepared and the admission committee will allot the seats based on the merit and fulfilling the reservation policy of the State Government. The list of selected candidates will be notified at the University headquarter / respective colleges and they should register for the courses in the respective colleges within the stipulated date by producing all original transcripts and paying the prescribed fees.
