Steps to fill application form

1. Multiple applications submitted by a candidate will be rejected.

2. If payment is not done, the application will be treated as incomplete and rejected without any notice.

Change in the application form data is not allowed after the submission.

3. Only students who produce original mark sheets for verification will be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

4. For special cases, a SKYPE evaluation process can be arranged, subject to the discretion of the department. In such cases, candidate is advised to attach a request letter (mentioning their SKYPE ID) to the admissions coordinator, along with the 6 items mentioned in the Submission Check List.

5. Copy of provisional degree certificate/degree certificate should be produced at the time of writing the entrance exam

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for B.A Mass Communication

• Communication Aptitude Test – CAPTEST (Entrance Exam).
• Pass in 10+2 examination with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Candidate from the foreign universities should obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Eligibility for M. A. in Communication & P. G. Diploma in Journalism (P. G. D. J.)

A pass in bachelor’s degree (10+2+3 system) in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with an aggregate 50% marks. Candidate from the foreign universities should obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. CAPTEST

The entrance test is designed to evaluate students from different backgrounds based on their interest, aptitude and potential for adapting to a professional communication course. The sections in each year’s question paper differ according to the discretion of the CAPTEST examiners, but the topics covered always include Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning and English Grammar.

Admission Procedure

All candidates are required to appear for the CAPTEST conducted by Amrita University. Selection is based on performance in Communication Aptitude Test –

• CAPTEST (Entrance Exam)*
• Group Discussion (GD)
• Personal Interview (PI)

Candidates with more than 70% aggregate marks during the first two years of their degree are exempted from appearing for the CAPTEST. However, they will have to appear for personal interview.

Students who qualify for personal interviews will be allotted fast track interview slots on priority basis before the actual CAPTEST slots.

Documents required for the admission procedure

• 10th and 12th Std Mark Sheets for B.A applications
• 10th and 12th Std Mark Sheets and Mark Sheets for all semesters of the Bachelor’s programme for M.A applications.

4. A demand draft for Rs.500/- made out in favor of “Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham” payable at ‘Coimbatore’.

5. 10th T. C. (if applicable).

6. Community Certificate (if applicable).

NOTE: Candidates who have appeared for their 12th examinations and are awaiting results can produce attested copies of their 11th Mark sheets when they appear for the CAP Test. Only at the time of joining, they have to produce their 12th results.
