Bongaigaon Polytechnic, the only premier Technical Institute offering study of 3 years Diploma Course in Engineering, on the North Bank of the river Brahmaputra, began its journey on 4th November-1986 with only Civil Engineering Branch and 35 students in its roll. From 1990 Electrical Engineering and Automobile Engineering department also starts functioning.
