- Rs.1000/- for SC/ST Categories.
Three modes of payment are there for payment of application fee i.e 1) Net Banking 2) Card Payment (By Using Debit/Credit Card of any bank) 3) Other Payment modes in which Callahan is generated and the applicant has to take the print out of that Callahan to the nearest SBI Branch for depositing the Cash.
Instruction for Filling Up Online Application
1. Log on to website www.hpuniv.in candidate must download the prospectus and replica of ONLINE application form to read it carefully to satisfy her eligibility criteria and other requirements for submission of online application form for appearing in the test.
2. Click on “Register Now” to create a new account. Once the new account is created online system will generate the unique application form number. Candidates are advised to note down the application form number for all future references.
3. After account creation, click login to complete the Entrance Examination application online. Online Entrance Application form has following subsequent information.

11. Upload photo and signature. Photo and signature uploaded should be as per specifications and size listed.
12. To save the data, please click on ‘Continue and Save’ button at the bottom of each screen before proceeding further.
12. Pay the B.Sc. Nursing Entrance Application fees.
13. Once the payment will be confirmed, Complete Entrance Application Form will be opened on the screen with edit option. Before proceeding further, please make sure that all the fields of the form are filled up correctly in the confirmation screen only then click on the Submit Button. Once the applicant click on the Submit button of her application page, she cannot edit/change the details entered
After clicking on ‘Submit’ button new window will appear on the Screen displaying full details of the applicant on the pdf format. Take the print out of the same page and attach the payment receipt with the computer generated confirmation copy of the application form and before sending it to the University designated officer. Candidate must retain the photocopies of the application form and fee receipt for future reference, as the application form number is to be used for downloading the Admit card from the University website.
Procedure of sending computer generated application form:
Follow the instructions to take the print out of the computer generated confirmation copy of the application form and attach the copy of the fee receipt and write the following address with the quote “Application form for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Entrance Test-2016” on any good quality envelope and then send it by post, so as to reach on or before the prescribed date to :

Eligibility Criteria
1. Admission to Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree course shall be made on the basis of merit of the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University Shimla for which the female candidates only are eligible subject to fulfillment of the following conditions :
2. The candidates should be registered as registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM) with H.P. State Nurses Registration Council, Shimla at the time of counseling.
3. The candidate must have passed 10+2 and its equivalent examination from recognized Board/University established by Law in India with minimum 45% aggregate marks. For SC/ST/OBC candidates the required percentage of aggregate marks will be 40%.
4. The candidate must have obtained 50% marks in General Nursing & Midwifery from the School/Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council.
5. The distribution of seats between In-Service and Direct candidates will be made in the ratio of 70:30. However, 200 point vertical reservation roster will be applied afresh for distribution of seats among General, SC, ST and OBC categories and no horizontal reservation roster will be applied.
For In-Service Quota Seats:
1. In-service quota seats to be filled up by in-service regularly appointed Nursing Cadre candidates of Govt. of H.P. However, adhoc & contractual appointees including appointees of Rogi Kalyan Samities will also be considered under this quota. The candidates must have completed minimum 5 years service on the last date of submission of application form
The candidates should not have attained maximum of 53 years of age as on 31st December, 2016.
The Counseling –cum-Admission form along with required documents in respect of In-Service candidates shall be submitted through their respective Head of Departments well within the stipulated date along with service certificate-cum-NOC at the time of counseling.
2. For Direct Quota Seats: Direct quota seats will be available for open competition from amongst:-
The Bonafide Himachali/Domicile candidates/Children of H.P. Govt. employees and employees of Autonomous Bodies wholly or partially financed by the Himachal Pradesh Government, who have done their GNM course from GNM Schools/Institutions anywhere in India duly recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/H.P. State Nurses Registration Council.

3. The candidates should be GNM trained from the recognized Govt./Private GNM Schools/ Institutions situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
4. The age of candidates should be between 17 to 35 years as on 31st December, 2016 i.e. the candidate should be born between 01.01.1982 and 1.1.2000. However, upper age can be relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST candidates i.e. the candidate must born between 1.1.1977 and 1.1.2000. The candidates will ensure that they must fulfill the above condition. Age as recorded in the matriculation certificate will be entertained.

Entrance Examination Details
The admission to the Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course shall be on the basis of a Entrance Test to be conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University at Shimla examination centre only on the date notified in the prospectus. The name and address of the examination centre is communicated on the admit cards to be uploaded on the website by the University for appearing in the Entrance Test. Examination Centre once allotted to the candidate will not be changed. However, University reserves the right to allot any centre in view of exigencies.
Examination Pattern
The examination shall consists of one written paper only in the subjects mentioned hereunder in accordance with the syllabi of GNM studies. The medium of examination shall be English. The question paper will be objective (MCQ) type. There will be only 4 (Four) options in each question i.e. A, B, C & D. Out of which one of the option will be the correct. Total questions will be 150 (one hundred fifty). Each question will carry 1 (one) mark. The duration of the Entrance Test will be 2 (two) hours. There will be No Negative Marking for a wrong answer. The written test is of objective type and in English language on the following subjects as given below:-

Merit List of HPU Post Basic B.Sc Nursing – Announced
Merit list has been announced on the official website of the HPU. After declaration of the merit list the Director Medical Education & Research Himachal Pradesh are constituted a committee for completing the admission process of Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course in Govt. /Private Colleges through counselling committee as per scheduled given in the prospectus.

1. The selection of the candidates for Post -Basic B.Sc. Nursing course is on the basis of the merit of the entrance test. The minimum marks required for the selection are 50% for candidates belonging to General category, 40% for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC and 45% for General Physical Handicapped categories candidates.
2. The Combined as well as Group/Category-wise merit list based on the marks of the Entrance Test of all qualified candidates shall be notified and displayed on the notice board of the University. The said merit list is also available on the University website www.hpuniv.in. Merely assigning of the rank in this merit list will not confer any right for admission, which will be made, if the candidate(s) satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria on verification of the original certificates/documents and subject to availability of seat(s) in the concerned quota/category at the time of counselling/admission. In case the candidate is found ineligible during he course of counseling, their candidature for admission shall be forfeited.
Resolving the Tie
The following Procedure shall be adopted to resolve the tie for admission: If two or more candidates obtain equal aggregate marks in the Post -Basic B.Sc. Nursing entrance test, then their inter-se merit for admission to the course shall be determined on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in order of Subject-wise Sections of the entrance test i.e.(i) Fundamentals of Nursing, (ii)Medical surgical Nursing, (iii) Psychiatric Nursing, (iv) Pediatrics Nursing, (v) Midwifery & Gynecology and (vi) Community Health Nursing. Even if, the tie still persist after exhausting the above procedure, then the candidate older in age shall be given preference.
Counselling
There will be a counselling system to allot the available seats in order of merit-cum-choice of the colleges. The admission process will be completed through counselling within the specified period by the counselling committee constituted by the Director Medical Education & Research, H.P. Shimla. The counselling for the qualified candidates will be held as per following schedule in the H.P.University, Auditorium, Shimla- 5 in accordance with the Group-wise as well as Category-wise merit list notified by the University.
The merit list has been displayed on the University Website “www.hpuniv.in”. The candidates are directed to check their result/merit on the said website and to make themselves present in the counselling accordingly. No separate call letters will be sent to the qualified candidates for attending the counselling.
Counselling Form
HPU has released the Counselling -cum-Admission form for the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing on their official website “www.hpuniv.in” of HPU. Selected candidates have to fill this form. 1. Candidates must bring Counselling-cum-Admission Form along with photocopies of all the required documents duly self-attested and counselling fee of Rs 100/- in the shape of Bank Draft/IPO drawn in favor of the Financer Officer H.P.University, Shimla. The Final eligibility of the candidates shall be determined strictly as per provisions of the prospectus on verification of original documents/certificates at the time of counseling/admission by the counseling committee. In case of any candidate is found to be ineligible during the course of counselling, her claim for admission shall be forfeited. However, before admitting the candidate to the course, the Principal of the colleges concerned shall also check the final eligibility of each candidate strictly as per provisions of the prospectus. It will be the entire responsibility of the Principal of the colleges concerned to admit the eligible candidates to the course. Also, the candidates should satisfy herself the prescribed eligibility criteria of the prospectus before taking the admission to the course. In the event of her ineligibility to be detected at later stage, her candidature shall liable to be cancelled without any notice for which the candidate would be solely responsible.
2. In case of unavoidable reasons, the candidates who are not able to appear in person, she may depute an authorized person with a letter of authority as given at the end of the Counseling-cum-Admission Form, failing which the merit of such candidates will be cancelled. The Committee will also prepare a waiting list for filling up vacant seats in order of merit in the College. The candidates not reporting for counselling as per schedule will forfeit their claim for admission without any further notice. No further opportunity will be given. The selected candidates will be required to join the college as per date mentioned in the prospectus, failing which their claim for admission shall be forfeited/cancelled. The academic session will start from 1.10.2016 No admission shall be made after 31.10.2016 even if the seats remain vacant in the colleges.
3. The candidates must remain in touch with each process of the Entrance Test right from the declaration of result/merit and counselling schedule. In case of any doubt in this respect may clear it telephonically on Phone No. 0177- 2830891, 0177-2620733 & 0177-2833588. If the doubt with regard to counselling is not cleared, the candidate can contact personally in the University well before the counselling or may report for counselling on the schedule date at H.P. University Auditorium, Shimla, so that she may not loose her chance for admission.

If a candidate has qualified the entrance test with the minimum required percentage of marks i.e. 50% for general category candidates, 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for Genral-Physically Handicapped categories candidates, then her name will appear in the merit list and she will be entitled to attend the above said counselling as per schedule mentioned above along with Counselling-cum-Admission Form as attached in the Prospectus duly filled in all respects and original as well as photocopies of each certificate/document duly self-attested by the candidate as mentioned here under:-

6. Certificate of having passed the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent examination along with details of marks in each subject.
7. General Nursing and Midwifery Diploma.

In case, any candidate is unable to attend the counselling in person, she may depute an authorized person for attending the counselling, failing which her claim for admission shall be forfeited.

Admission Procedure
1.For Govt. Nursing College and State/Management Quota Seats in Private Nursing Colleges/Institutions.
2. State Quota: Only those female Children of Bonafide Himachali/Domicile/Children of H.P. Govt. employees and employees of Autonomous Bodies wholly or partially financed by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh who qualified the Entrance Test conducted by H.P.University subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as contained in the Prospectus will be considered in order of merit of the Entrance test for admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course.
3. Management Quota: However, for Management Quota seats, the above conditions does not apply and the candidates irrespective of having above status qualified the Entrance Test shall be considered for admission to Post-Basic B. Sc. Nursing Degree in order of merit of Entrance Test subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as contained in the prospectus.
4. No. shifting shall be allowed from one private nursing college/institution to another private nursing college/institution under the same capacity of admission.
