IIM Indore → It has announced the selection criteria for admission 2016-2018. Candidates need to clear a minimum CAT 2015 cut off to be eligible for IIM Indore Admission 2016. Indian Institute of Management Indore will first generate a merit list. On the basis of this, candidates will be called for WAT and PI. Application Form
Candidates seeking admission to the two-year PGP of IIM Indore have to appear in the Common Admission Test [CAT] as described in the CAT advertisement, which has been published in leading newspapers on July 26, 2015. It shall be conducted on November 29, 2015. Candidates interested and who are eligible can apply online and register themselves on www.iimcat.ac.in during the period August 6 – September 25, 2015. While registering for CAT 2015, candidates can apply to IIM Indore by selecting the option available in the online registration and there is no additional cost for the same.
Note → Any candidate who is interested in applying for IIM Indore needs to exercise his/her their option to apply while registering for CAT 2015. No change in the category will be entertained after the closure of CAT registration window.
Eligibility Criteria
1. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
2. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
3. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at Selection Process of IIMs.
Reservation
1. As per Government of India reservation norms, 15% per cent and 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) candidates respectively meeting IIMI’s admission requirements; 27% seats are reserved for non creamy layer – other backward classes (NC-OBC) candidates meeting IIMI’s admission requirements.
2. In addition, 3% seats are reserved for persons with disabilities (as per the provisions of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995) meeting IIMI’s admission requirements. The three categories of disabilities are: (a) low-vision/blindness, b) hearing impairment, and c) locomotor disability/cerebral palsy. This provision is applicable if the candidate suffers from any of the listed disabilities to the extent of not less than 40% as certified by medical authority and as prescribed and explained in the said Act.
Selection Process
Stage →1
All applicants who apply for two-year courses must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned in CAT 2015 advertisement and also the following minimum sectional percentile and overall percentile scores in CAT 2015 (as mentioned below in table). Those applicants meeting the above criteria will only be considered for the Stage-2 of the selection process.
Stage →2
The candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in Stage 1 will only be considered for this stage of shortlisting for WAT and PI. Sufficient number of candidates for WAT and PI for each category (General, NC-OBC, SC, ST and DA) will be shortlisted using the merit list generated based on Composite Score (CS) as mentioned in below table.
1. Candidates short-listed for WAT and PI will be intimated in the month of January 2016. Individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who are not shortlisted for WAT and PI.
2. IIM Indore conducts admission interviews in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi only. However, IIM Indore reserves the right to change the centres at any time if the situation so warrants.
3. Candidates shortlisted for WAT and PI at Stage-2 must have to attend both WAT and PI, otherwise they will be not be considered for the next stage of selection process i.e Stage-3. “IIM Indore also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of Personal Interview (PI), which will be decided by Admissions Committee. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in any of PI parameters will not be considered for the next stage of selection process i.e. Stage-3”.
Stage →3 Final Selection
The candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in Stage 2 will only be considered for the final selection. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Final Composite Score (CS) as mentioned in below table and provisional admission offers will be made accordingly adhering to the reservation norms.
Scholarship
The PGP Office of IIM Indore shall provide details on scholarships administered by IIM Indore to all finally admitted candidates.
