Candidates who wish to appear in the Management Entrance Test (MET) 2016 for admission session 2016-17 may note complete information regarding PU MET 2016 here.

Application process is over…!!!
Step 1 – Visit PU MET 2016 Registration Form
- Click the apply online link given above.
- Fill in candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID and category.
- Note down application number, Login ID, password.
- Download SBI Deposit Slip.
Step 2 – Deposit challan in any SBI bank branch.
Important note
You must download and print fee deposit slip. Then candidate has to deposit fee at any branch of State Bank of India, minimum one day after printing of fee deposit slip.
Use the login and password to upload photograph and signature and fill other important information. You must have scanned photograph and signature with less than 100kb size. Use login menu to complete these processes.
Please do not disclose your login ID and password. Keep it till the end of the admission process.
Fee through the challan can be deposited at any SBI bank branch, minimum one day after generation of challan.
Step 3 – Log in and fill details
- Visit PU MET 2016 log in page, 24 hours after depositing fee, at the PU MET website.
- Enter fee details – journal number, Bank branch code, Deposit date, Amount deposited, upload fee deposit slip.
- Complete each section – Profile, Categories, Academic Qualification. Enter details carefully and lock each section. Once you lock the section, you will not be allowed to change information in that section.
Step 4 – Send filled in PU MET 2016 Application Form
- After filling form completely, download and take print out.
- Send the form along with the documents to UIAMS.
A candidate desirous of taking the Entrance Test should fill the application form online and further submit printed copy of the Application form under Registered Cover or personally at the following address, on or before the last date mentioned above:

Documents to be submitted along with the PU MET 2016 Application Form
1. The candidates applying under a category other than the general category must attach attested copies of below mentioned documents/certificates along with the hard copy of the form to be submitted in the office of the UIAMS, South Campus, Sector-25 (Behind Alumni House), Panjab University, Chandigarh
2. Relevant certificate to claim a seat in Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Backward Class / Defense / Physically Handicapped / Riot Victim / Freedom Fighter / Only(Single) Girl Child / Cancer-AIDS patient / wards of Kashmiri Displaced Persons.
3. Each applicant applying for admission in Sports Category shall along with the Application Form submit self-attested photocopy of sports certificates. Affidavits (as per the Annexures III and IV) on stamp paper of Rs 5/- or Rs 10/- each duly attested by Notary/Magistrate Class I/II have to be submitted.
4. Foreign / NRI candidates not residing in India and thereby unable to avail of the above admission process will be required to submit scores of GMAT, Princeton (USA) which will be treated at par with the combined score of Written Test, (MET) Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, Chandigarh.
5. The candidates under reserved categories have to bring original certificates for verification at the time of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates under Foreign / NRI categories have to submit the NRI certificate required by the University at the time of admission.
6. In case of gap of one or more sessions between passing the last examination and admission being sought now, a candidate will have to give an affidavit at the time of admission stating that he has not been involved in any offence as per the format given in Handbook of Information.
7. The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination/s from an institution other than Panjab University, will be eligible only if such examination/ degree is recognized as equivalent to corresponding exam/degree of the Panjab University.
Eligibility Criteria
MBA (Retail Management) and MBA (Banking and Insurance Management)
- A Bachelor’s or Master Degree in any discipline of Panjab University or of any other university which has been recognized by the syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelor’s degree of the University through Modern Indian Languages [Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi (Gurumukhi Script)] and/or in a classical language (Sanskrit/ Persian/Arabic) or degree of any other university obtained in the same manner recognized by the Syndicate, 50% marks in the aggregate shall be calculated by taking into account full percentage of marks in all the papers in Language excluding the additional optional paper, English and the elective subject taken together. Or
- Pass in the final examination conducted by either (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, or (b) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India Or
- AMIE examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and have at least 5 years research/teaching or professional experience.
MBA (Information Technology & Telecommunications Management) and MBA (Infrastructural Management)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology, i.e. B.E./B. Tech. (in any Branch) of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. Or
- Bachelor’s degree in any Science subject with Physics and/or Mathematics of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. Or
- Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA) of Panjab University or any of the other University recognized by the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. Or
- AMIE examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and have at least 5 years research/teaching or professional experience.
MBA (Pharmaceutical Management)
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy of Panjab University or of any other university recognized by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Or
- M.B.B.S of Panjab University or of any other university recognized by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Or
- Bachelor’s Degree in any Science subject of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in the aggregate AND Diploma in Pharmacy of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
MBA (Hospital Management)
- MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS/ B. Pharmacy/ B.Sc (Nursing)/ Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) of Panjab University or a degree of any other University which has been recognized by the syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.
Admit Card
The candidates shall be admitted to the test only on the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre. No candidate shall be allowed to take the test without the Admit Card under any circumstances. The candidates must retain the admit card with them till the admission process is over, since it will be required again at the time of counselling. The Entrance Test will be held tentatively at Chandigarh and Ludhiana Centres on the scheduled date. The Admit Cards is issued to the candidates only provisionally, at their sole risk and responsibility subject to the final confirmation of their eligibility at the time of admission. It is further clarified that the candidates shall be taking the test at their own risk and responsibility as far as their eligibility is concerned and the University shall, in no way, be responsible if they are found to be ineligible, later, leading to cancellation of their result or any other consequence(s) emanating from the same.

Exam Pattern
The Entrance Test will carry 85% weight-age and be of 2 hours duration. It will consist of multiple- choice questions having four responses A, B, C & D. The components of the test will include

- Economics and Business Environment Awareness;
- Data interpretation and problem solving;
- Numerical Ability;
- Verbal Ability/ Reasoning
- English Comprehension.

PU MET 2016 GD/PI
Panjab University (PU) has published the list of candidates who have been Shortlisted for GD/PI. Group Discussion / Interview schedule will be notified, on the UIAMS Web Site, shortly. List of candidates can be checked through the link provided below.
All candidates appearing for GD/PI must bring a recent photograph as well as one complete set of photocopy of all their certificates/testimonials duly attested along with the original certificates for verification at the time of GD/PI.

Instruction to Candidates
1. If it is found that a candidate has knowingly or willfully concealed or suppressed any information/fact which renders him/her ineligible to take the Entrance Test, his/her result of the Test as also admission to the University Institute of Applied management Sciences (UIAMS), if granted, shall stand cancelled and he/she shall have no claim whatsoever against the Institution/Department/Centre concerned and the case, if necessary shall be reported to the police.
2. The valid concerns thus expressed will be given due consideration while evaluation. Within 10 days after the declaration of the final result (i.e., after the completion of group discussion and personal interview), if a candidate wishes to verify his/her result, he/she will be provided a photocopy of his/her answer sheet on payment of Rs. 10,000/- and will be informed about his/her score in the group discussion and interview, in case, a discrepancy is found in the result of the candidate, the result would accordingly be revised.
3. The result of the Entrance Test will not be sent to the candidates. The comprehensive result after the Group Discussion and Personal Interview will be notified on the UIAMS notice board as well as the UIAMS website.
PU UIAMS MET 2016 Merit List
The admission will be made on the basis of the Entrance Test (85% weightage), Group Discussion (7.5% weightage) and Personal Interview (7.5% weightage). The result of the Entrance Test will not be sent to the candidates. Provisional Merit List of Candidates for admission to MBA Sectoral Programmes UIAMS, PU – Session 2016-17
The Candidate will be admitted in respective courses in order of merit, subject to determination of eligibility criteria at the time of counseling
The candidate will appear for counselling around third/fourth week of June, 2016. At the time of counselling, admission to different MBA programmes of University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), will be offered strictly according to the merit list for each MBA sectoral programme.
Final merit list of all the candidates called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview will be prepared category wise on the basis of their combined aggregate score in the Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Admissions will be made on the basis of this merit list. Attendance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview is a must. If any candidate does not attend any one of the components, his/her candidature will stand cancelled without notice.
