Details of Entrance Exam for Admission – Round 2
1. The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) in collaboration with Kingston University, London, offers a creative, studio-based education through its three rigorous Bachelor degree program mes in Fashion Design, Interior Architecture & Design, and Communication Design, at its campus in New Delhi.
2. It also offers residential accommodation facility for outstation students on ‘First-come-first-serve-basis’. Kindly note the accommodation has limited seats and therefore the earlier you book the accommodation, the better you are placed.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed the CBSE/ISC/IB (or any other equivalent board) 10+2 examination in any discipline. Candidates who have recently appeared for the examination and are awaiting their results may also apply for Indian Institute of Art and Design Admission.
Candidates must have an interest in and a flair for art and design. Any additional knowledge or experience in drawing/sketching, model making and visual art forms would be an asset towards your admission.

3. Students applying for Interior Architecture & Design can be exempted from the i DAT written test based on their NATAL score. Should they attain the required cut off score they will progress directly for their Portfolio Assessment and Interview.
Entrance Examination
The Design Aptitude Test is a mandatory two hour test for all applicants, and will be administered at prescribed testing centers. The II AD Admission Committee will review each student’s aptitude for observation, drawing and design skills, imaginative and creative expression, and visual and communication strengths.
Note → It reserves the right to cancel/add/change any entrance test centers (s) for administrative reasons.

Candidates with a 70% aggregate in the CBSE/ ISC/ IB (or any other equivalent board) 10+2 examination in any discipline may apply for scholarship. The final result will depend also on performance in the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT), personal interview and portfolio review.

Selection Process
1. Candidates will be evaluated through the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT). This will be followed by a personal interview, which includes individual portfolio assessment.
2. All candidates must appear for the iDAT and the personal interview/portfolio assessment. These stages are mandatory for each candidate and final results will be announced only thereafter.
3. i DAT is a 100 marks, two hours test, mandatory for all applicants. This test evaluates the candidates aptitude for drawing, design ability, power of observation / representation, creativity, imagination, lateral thinking and writing skills. It further gauges student’s environmental awareness through visual and textual questioning.
Portfolio Evaluation
Personally developed portfolio is mandatory and this would be evaluated during Personal Interview. The body of work can include drawings, paintings, collages, needle-work, three dimensional work, digital design, web design, sculpture etc. The portfolio appraisal will carry as much weightage as the personal interview, and the candidate’s work must reflect aesthetic talent and vision.
Personal Interview
1. Personal interview will focus upon applicants’ maturity, confidence, awareness, personal goals, intellectual ability and communication skills. The Interview will be conducted after the candidate completes the i DAT.
