Details Announced Insofar

• Notably, JEE Main, or the Joint Entrance Examination Mains, is the largest engineering entrance exam in India. Previously held as the All India Engineering Entrance Exam or AIEEE, JEE Main is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

• Till the year 2016, calculation of merit to announce All India Ranks for JEE Main was done using a normalization procedure. In this process, 60% weightage was given to JEE Main Score and 40% weightage was given to normalized board percentile equivalent JEE score (the process has been explained here).

• For JEE Main 2017, the weightage to board percentile is being dispensed, i.e., only marks obtained in JEE Main 2017 will be used to determine All India Rank for JEE Main 2017 Result.

• To determine eligibility of aspirants for JEE Advanced 2017, candidate should have secured at least 75% or be in top 20 percentile in his or her board. In case of SC / ST students, marks required will be 65%.

• So, if you are preparing for JEE Main 2017, here are the key points you need to keep in mind.
