Application Form

Candidates who are waiting to apply for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) should keep their documents ready. The online application form of TANCET 2016 is available at annauniv.edu. Interested & eligible candidates can also fill the online application form through the direct link, which is given below.

Registration Fees: Rs. 500/- for General Category candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu.

How to apply and when to apply?

  • Students had the option to apply online only at website annauniv.edu 
  • Candidates must apply only through channels notified by Anna University.
  • Submission of forms will only be between first and last dates specified.

TANCET 2016 Application Form – Instruction

Online application form is made available by Anna University, for eligible candidates to register for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test. The official website where application form of TANCET 2016 has issued is https://www.annauniv.edu/.

  • Before registering please ensure that you know how to pay application fee.
  • Enter details asked in the form such as personal details, communication details, academic details. All the fields must be entered. No field should be left blank.
  • Candidates have to fill up all the details in the application.
  • Upload a recent Passport size photo not exceeding 25 KB of type jpg/jpeg
  • After ensuring that all the details are filled, preview before submission.
  • Candidates can make any changes before submission.
  • Once it is ensured that all the details have been filled and are correct, take a print out for your reference only
  • Once printout is taken no more changes can be made. Note down your Application Number for all future correspondence Payment has to be made only through online.

Entrance Exam Fee

A candidate applying for more than one programme has to pay Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) for each additional programme. A single demand draft is sufficient for one or more programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

Required eligibility criteria for TANCET 2016 is defined for ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan, MBA, MCA, MCA Lateral Entry. Check here complete eligibility criteria below.


*Candidates with Section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificates (A.M.I.E.) and other similar certificates of professional bodies viz. Aeronautical Society of India etc., recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and enrolled before 31.5.2013 are considered to be equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. Degree holders, only with 2 years regular full time experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work. An experience certificate is to be produced by the candidates.

Candidates appearing for the final semester / year of examination of the said qualifying degree course except courses offered by Professional Institution’s (like AMIE) during April/May 2016 may also apply for TANCET 2016.
Note:
  • Candidates admitted through Lateral Entry in degree courses are not eligible except, B.E./B.Tech. and MCA degree courses.
  • Candidates with B.E./B.Tech. degrees obtained through Distance / Weekend mode are not eligible.
  • Candidates with degree obtained without studying 10th, 12th Std. or 3 years degree programme are not eligible.

TANCET Hall Ticket 2016 (Admit Card)

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test 2016 test takers will have to carry the TANCET 2016 Hall Ticket / TANCET 2016 Admit Card on the day of exam in order to be allowed to appear for the exam. It will also be required at the time of admission. Candidates who have applied for the exam should obtain the hall tickets by following steps announced by the Anna University, and keep the document safely till end of admissions.

About TANCET Admit Card

1. The admit card has been released online, TANCET Admit Card can be downloaded from TANCET official website www.annauniv.edu.

2. The Registration Number assigned in the TANCET Hall Ticket should be entered at the appropriate place in the admission application form to be filed with the respective admitting authority later.
TANCET Admit Card should be produced at the time of Entrance Test and also at the time of Admission.

3. If the hall ticket is lost after the test, a duplicate hall ticket can be obtained on payment of Rs. 100/- in the form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025, indicating the Registration No. / Application No. and the name of the Examination Centre.

4. All the eligible candidates who have registered through internet, should download the hall tickets of TANCET from the website.

5. If any eligible candidate does not receive the TANCET Hall Ticket, he/she should contact authorities.

Exam Pattern

TANCET 2016 Exam Pattern will elaborate upon the question paper duration, sections in the question paper, and other details. Knowing the TANCET exam pattern will be critical for students who apply for the exam and wish to score high.

Syllabus And Evaluation Scheme

M.B.A. 2 Hours The question paper will have sections to.

  • Evaluate the candidate’s ability to identify critically the data and apply the data to business decisions from given typical business situations.
  • Evaluate the skill of the candidate in answering questions based on the passages in the comprehension.
  • Evaluate the skill on solving mathematical problems at graduate level including those learnt in plus two or equivalent level.
  • Test on determining data sufficiency for answering certain questions using the given data and the knowledge of mathematics and use of day-to-day facts.
  • Test the knowledge on written English with questions on errors in usage, grammar, punctuation and the like.
M.C.A. 2 Hours The question paper will have the following sections:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Analytical reasoning
  • Logical reasoning
  • Computer awareness
  • A few questions may also be on verbal activity, basic science, etc.
M.E./M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Plan 2 Hours The question paper will have three parts.

Part-I and Part-II are compulsory and under Part-III the candidates have to answer the section which has been chosen at the time of registration. If a candidate appears for different section, Part – III will not be evaluated.
