The year 1957 saw the beginning of a powerful movement. The `ALL INDIA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION’ (AIMA) was created as the national apex body of the management profession, with active support of Government of India and Indian corporate sector. It was intended as a cause group – a body to pool management thoughts in the country, a forum to develop a national managerial ethos, an organization to facilitate the furtherance of management profession and its contribution to the society.

Application Form
Application form is to be filled online at aima.in. Application form of RMAT 2016 is issued by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for PhD in Business Administration. In the AIMA online registration form, details such as personal particulars, academic details, experience detail, demand draft particulars have to be filled in correctly. Candidates who wish to appear in the Research Management Aptitude Test must fill the RMAT 2016 online registration form and submit it to AIMA Delhi with the requisite fees of Rs 1500/-. Applicant must submit the form within the dates specified in the calendar of events

Instructions for Applying Online
Step 1
Obtain Demand Draft: Candidates have to provide certain details from the Demand Draft at the time of online registration. Therefore, candidates must have the Demand Draft ready before filling up the Registration Form. Candidates are required to obtain a Demand Draft for Rs.1500/- drawn in favor of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at New Delhi, in advance. Application submitted without the details of the Demand Draft will not be accepted.
Step 2
Register online for AIMA RMAT 2016: Go to the online application form and enter the details asked. After filling the form correctly, Click the button “Proceed Next”. The data filled by you will be displayed. In case you wish to change any information, click “Back to Edit Registration Form” button. If there is no change in information, click “Submit” button. Recheck before submitting online as no editing is possible after submission.
Step 3
Submit the filled in RMAT 2016 online registration form: An auto-generated Registration Number is allotted to you on successful submission of online registration form and will appear on print version of the Registration Form. Before taking the print out, save the print version of application form using ‘SAVE AS’ function in the ‘FILE’ menu of the window. You must keep an additional copy of the application form for all future reference.
Step 4
Submit the print out of form with attachments: Print the submitted online form, and attach demand draft with details of name, and auto generated registration number on its back. Affix photograph, sign in space required. Also attach copy of certificates (matriculation, graduation, post graduation / professional degree, and mark sheets), experience certificate of current employer with work experience details.
Make the set of the following documents
- Print out of the filled online RMAT Registration Form with auto-generated Registration No. with your photograph affixed and duly signed.
- On the back of Demand Draft please fill the following details
- Your Name
- Auto-generated Registration Number
- Copy of Matriculation Certificate, Graduation & Post Graduation/Professional Degree & Mark sheets
- Copy of Experience Certificate giving details of work experience, till date certified by your current employer.

Eligibility Criteria
A candidate will be eligible for admission to a course of study leading to the degree of PhD in Business Administration subject to fulfilling the following criteria:
1. Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Management or allied subjects from Commerce, Humanities, Science, Engineering and Law etc. or a PGDM/PGDITM approved by AICTE with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade OR Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy or any other professional qualification which are considered equivalent to Master Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade. In addition, the candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in Graduation.
2. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years post qualification work experience in industry at the managerial level or a minimum 5 years of teaching experience as full time Faculty in a Management Institute approved by AICTE or affiliated to a University.
RMAT Admit Card

Admit card for Research Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) is issued by AIMA for the examination which will be held on May 2016. Admit card will have the Roll Number and Test Centre Address. Admit card is an essential document and candidates must bring their admit card at the time of examination. No separate Admit Card will be issued. Instruction to Candidates
1. Admit cards can be downloaded by using the RMAT Registration Number.
2. Candidate must take the printout of RMAT 2016 admit card from the website http://apps.aima.in/
3. The RMAT Admit card 2016 will have the Roll Number and Test Centre Address. No separate admit card, apart from the online generated one, will be issued.
4. After printing the hall ticket, affix two similar photographs already kept in self custody.
5. Get the photographs on the admit card attested by any Gazetted Officer.
6. Candidate must present the RMAT Admit Card 2016, duly completed at the test center for appearing in the exam. The admit card will be verified and signed by the Invigilator during the test. The upper half of the admit card will be collected by the Invigilator and the lower half will be handed over to the candidate.
General Instruction
1. Candidates are to report to the allotted test centre at least 45 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the test.
2. Neither any candidate will be admitted 15 minutes after the commencement of the test nor any extra time granted for completing the test.
3. Candidates are to be in possession of the following when reporting to the test centre:
4. Document: Admit Card duly completed.
5. Writing Materials: Ball Point Pen, HB Pencils, Eraser and Sharpener.
6. The test room will be opened about 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. The candidates are to be seated at the allotted place.
7. Your Admit Card will be verified during the test. One part of Admit Card will be given to you as proof of your having appeared in the test. Please ensure that this is duly signed by you and the test invigilator.
8. Calculator, Pager, Mobile, etc are not permitted inside the test room.
9. Candidate will be allowed to leave the test room after the completion of test and only after permitted by the invigilator. If you wish to leave the room during the test, you must have the invigilator’s permission. You will not be permitted to make up the time you lose.
10. Blank sheets for rough work will be provided, if required.
11. All centers are closely monitored for security and candidates’ identity and activities will be recorded using web cameras and/or closed circuit TV cameras. Anyone violating the rules of the test center will not be allowed to continue with the test and will be automatically disqualified.
Exam Pattern
The duration of the test is 90 minutes. There are 100 questions and all questions will be of the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ type). Each MCQ will consist of a stem which may be in the form of a question or an incomplete statement and four options. All questions are compulsory. Each question has four options marked (1), (2), (3) and (4). All questions carry equal mark. There will be NO Negative Marking for wrong answers. All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only.
Examination and Evaluation
The candidates would be evaluated out of 100 marks in term end comprehensive examinations for each paper. The candidates shall be required to obtain at least a C grade in each course separately and secure an overall B grade on a 4-point scale in the course work after the end of four modules failing which they will have to repeat the course(s) at the next examination.

Selection Process
Aspiring candidate will be screened through a written test Research Management Aptitude Test (R-MAT) and candidates above a-cut-off R-MAT score, which PhD Committee decides, would be called for personal interview at AIMA, Delhi on the subject and related areas.
Methodology
The entire programme will be conducted through face to face sessions and regular counseling by experts, external and internal guides. The self-contained multimedia course pack comprising of especially designed study guides, text books, reading material, assignments, etc. will be provided to each candidate. Personal Contact Session would also be provided at AIMA, Delhi during the Foundation Programme. Attendance at Personal Contact Session is compulsory and any exception needs special clearance of Research Committee. During the course work the candidate would be required to write an integrated case study and a research paper which would be treated as course of two credits each.
