NMAT Registration Instructions
Test takers need to upload their recent photograph while filling the Registration application. Test takers must ensure the following while uploading their photo in the registration Application:
Photos should be in JPEG format, and dimensions should be 200 pixels tall and 150 pixels wide. Size should not exceed 500 kb. If the image is scanned kindly upload it in portrait format (No landscape/rotated Pictures).
1. Photo should have either white or lightly colored background.
2. Eyes should be open and clearly visible.
3. Test taker face should be distinctly visible, straight and at the centre. Shoulder tops should be also clear on the photo.
4. Photographs should not be more than 6 months old.
5. Following photographs are not acceptable and liable to get rejected.
6. Facebook photos and/or photos not having the above mentioned specifications of size.
7. Photos in which the test administration staff cannot sufficiently authenticate your identity.
8. Photos with dark color background.
Registration and Payment – Procedure
1. Click on “Register Now” in the Quick Links on the right side of the screen.
2. Click on “Register”. New user registration details will open, enter your first, last name, country, mobile number, email id and choose a password. Click on “Submit” button.
3. A new window will appear prompting you to complete the online application form.
4. An authentication email will be sent to the email you provided. You will be able to login only after validating your email ID. Once the email is verified, click on “Login” button and provide your email id and password to log into your NMAT by GMAC™ account.
5. Upon successful login you will be able to access registration form in your NMAT by GMAC™ account. You need to complete all the sections in online registration form related to your personal information, contact information, educational and work experience, programme/school preference, additional information & NMAT Exam terms & conditions. Choose the schools to send your scores under the “Schools Preference” section. Up to 7 programmes/schools are included in your registration fee. An additional fee of INR 200 + applicable taxes will be applied for each programme/school added in excess of 7 programmes/schools.
6. You must read the Terms and Conditions and privacy policy and must click on the check boxes to accept the terms and conditions.
7. Before submitting the form, you are advised to review your registration form carefully. Once the “Submit Form” button is clicked, no other changes can be made EXCEPT “School Preference” section. You can also change your “Communication Preferences” at any point of time.
8. You need to click on the “Submit Form” button to complete your registration.
9. The next screen will display your unique NMAT by GMAC™ Registration Number.
10. You are required to pay the applicable exam fee for successful completion of the registration.
Click on the “Proceed with online payment” link that appears along with the NMAT by GMAC™ Registration Number. The Make Payment screen will display the payment options. You can pay by Visa or MasterCard Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net Banking/American Express Card/ Diners Card, IMPS and Mobile Wallets.
11. After successful registration, you will receive an email with your unique NMAT by GMAC™ Registration Number. You should use this NMAT by GMAC™ Registration Number for all future correspondence with GMAC.
Note : You are required to register for the NMAT by GMAC™ exam during the registration window in order to become eligible for an “NMAT by GMAC™ Retake” exam.
Late Registration for NMAT
- Test takers who are unable to register during the specified time will have the option of registering through the online registration application available on the website www.nmat.org.in during the Late Registration window as per schedule by paying the applicable fee as specified on the website.
- Test takers will be able to edit only certain fields like Programme Selection and Candidate Preferences in their registration form after submitting the registration fee. Test takers are advised to check the information entered in the online registration form very carefully while registering and once again before submitting the registration as they will not be allowed to make any changes after submission.
- All rules will be applicable as mentioned under the Registration section above.

1. For all the full time programs, candidates who are appearing for the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply. Provisional admission is subject to clearing the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate marks and selected candidates must produce all the necessary documents, in original, within the given stipulated time.
2. For all the Full Time programs, candidates having two and more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred.
3. At the time of admission, candidate has to produce semester-wise / trimester-wise / consolidated (only if individual mark sheets are not issued by University / Institute) mark sheets of all years of the college from which he/she is graduated. In case of internet copies of mark sheets, attestation by Principal with official seal is mandatory.
4. The candidates, who have passed or, have appeared for graduation examination from a University where Grade Point Average is given, must produce the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA obtained in writing from the University concerned.
5. It is sole responsibility of the candidate to ascertain whether they possess the necessary and requisite qualification for the admission at NMIMS, as verification of the documents is done at the time of final admission.
Important Point to Note –
- If at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria or the information furnished by him / her in the online registration is incorrect, his/her application for the admission to the Programme, even if selected and fees paid, will stand cancelled and fees forfeited.
- Candidates appearing for NMAT by GMAC™ exam, Case Discussion & Personal Interview should note that if at any point of time it observed that they do not meet eligibility criteria, then admission will be cancelled and the process will stand terminated. No fees will be refunded.
Admit Card NMAT 2016
1. Admit Card of NMAT 2016 is a document containing your registration details and photograph.
2. In order to take the NMAT exam, you are required to produce the NMAT Admit Card 2016 along with other necessary documents on the day of the test.
3. You are required to upload your photographs as per the specification provided on the registration website.
4. You will be able to print your NMAT 2016 Admit Card with photograph after the payment is accepted by GMAC.
5. You will be required to carry the NMAT Admit Card to the test centre and get it signed by the test administrator at the designated place on the day of the test.
6. If you are opting to retake the exam you must retain the ‘same’ Admit Card that you carried for the first / previous attempt (signed and stamped by the test administrator). You will be required to produce the ‘same’ Admit Card and will have to get it signed and stamped at the test centre where you appear, for you to retake the exam. Please note you may or may not get the same test centre as allotted to you for your previous attempt(s).
Candidates will be able to print their admit card from www.nmat.org.in website after registration.

Schools may ask you to present a signed Admit Card to verify that you have completed the NMAT by GMAC™ exam. Please check that your printed photograph on your Admit Card is clearly visible. If the photo is blank or not clearly visible, contact the help desk on nmat.org.in or email nmatsupport@gmac.com to update the photo. You will not be allowed to test if the test administrator is unable to match your photo. Please remember to carry this Admit Card to the testing centre on the day of your scheduled exam. If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to test. In addition to this Admit Card, you will be required to present other identification documents (original and non-expired) as specified on nmat.org.in to be allowed to test. Make sure that the test administrator signs the Admit Card at the designated place.
Please retain the signed Admit Card until your school admission process is complete.

More about NMAT
- It is a computer based test.
- Duration of exam – 2 hours.
- The test contains multiple choice questions.
- Additionally, there will be 2 minutes NDA, 10 minutes Tutorial and 3 minutes Section ordering screen.
- NMAT consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s Language skills, Mathematics skills, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency and Intelligence & Logical Reasoning skills.
- NMAT, has three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.
- The three sections of NMAT are individually timed and candidates need to answer the sections and review the questions of that section within the allotted section time. Once the candidate moves out of a section, there is no option of returning to that section for attempting or reviewing the questions.
Features of NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam is computer-delivered and gives each candidate a randomly generated test from a pool of questions, delivered one-at-a-time. The number of questions, difficulty levels, and the time limit for each of the sections is predetermined and, under normal administration conditions, are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered. Candidates have a choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections.
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam has three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.
The three sections of the NMAT by GMAC™ are individually timed. Test takers must answer questions and review answers of each section within the allotted time. Test takers must review their answers before moving to another section of the exam, as once the candidate closes out of a section, all answers are final.
ID Requirements
Test takers are required to reach the test centre 45 minutes before the scheduled time of their test. Test takers reporting later than 15 minutes of the scheduled time may not be admitted. No requests for exceptions will be entertained in this regard. The test centre may not be air conditioned but a comfortable environment will be provided.
The test taker needs to bring the following to the test centre on the day of the test, without which the test taker will not be allowed to take the test
- Confirmation e-mail printout
- Admit Card: Test takers can download their Admit Card from the registration site after authentication of their payment
- Photocopy of the test taker’s Primary ID for submission at the Test centre.
- Any other document as advised by GMGC for differently abled candidates.
- Copy of Xth class certificate in case there is mismatch in the name between Xth class certificate and Test taker ID
- One valid primary ID and another secondary ID
- List of primary IDs (must contain the test taker’s name, photo and signature)
- Passport issued by the Government of India
- PAN Card issued by the Government of India
- Voter’s ID Card
- UID/Aadhaar Card
- List of Secondary IDs (must contain test taker’s name and signature)
- Passport issued by the Government of India
- PAN Card issued by the Government of India
- Credit Card/Debit Card
- Driving License
Test takers who are unable to produce the above forms of valid ID (non–expired and in original) and admit card on the day of the test will not be admitted into the testing room and will not be offered a test fee refund.
Please note that following are not acceptable as IDs on the day of the test
- Photocopies (attested or otherwise)
- Notarised copies and
- Learner’s driving license
The Test Invigilator will admit the test taker after completing the following steps
- Check the test taker’s confirmation e-mail print out
- Check the admit card
- Check the primary and secondary IDs and photocopy the Primary ID
- Take a digital photo
- Obtain the test taker’s signature
The Invigilator will sign the admit card at the designated place and put the company seal as a confirmation of the test taker reporting to take the test.
The Invigilator will then guide the test taker to the computer where the test taker will be seated to take the test.
Test takers will be provided with writing material at the test centre and are not allowed to carry anything with them except their IDs and confirmation email printout.
est takers will be presented with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that they must accept in order to proceed with the test. If the test taker does not accept NDA deliberately or by mistake, he/she will not be able to proceed with the test and the test will end. The test taker will then not be able to resume the test that day under any circumstances. Test centre staff will not be able to do anything and the test taker will lose the test attempt as well as forfeit the test fee.
Test takers will be able to select the order of sections at the beginning of the test after NDA. If they do not choose the section order, the sections will appear as per the default section order.
Each section contains several questions. The test taker must read the directions given for each group of questions in each section of the test carefully. If he/she skips the directions given for attempting the questions, he/she may miss the main idea and lose credit for some questions in that section.
After finishing each section, test takers will be presented with the Review Screen where they will be able to review the questions they marked for review along with any other questions in that section. Test takers and can review or change the answers for that section only. The review time is included in the total amount of time allowed for each section. After the section time is over, test takers will be automatically presented with the next section and they will not be able to return to the previous section.
After the test is over, test takers are required to remain seated until the Invigilator closes the test window and allows the test takers to leave the test area.
Test takers will be required to return the writing material to the test centre after finishing the test.

The NMAT by GMAC™ exam will be delivered at 32 centres in 23 cities throughout India. The current locations are:

Some cities will have multiple test centres to choose from. The NMAT by GMAC™ is not offered at any international location.
Test Centre Change
Test takers can request a test centre change by visiting the NMAT by GMAC registration system. There will be an additional fee payable by credit card only. After the test taker receives the confirmation e-mail from Pearson VUE, she or he will be able to select a new test center.
Rescheduling
- A test taker will be allowed to reschedule the test no later than 72 hours prior to the scheduled test to a different date, time and/or test centre, subject to availability, by paying the applicable fee.
- Seat availability in terms of test centre, slot and date will be on a “First come, First serve” basis.
- A test taker cannot reschedule a test if 72 hours or less remain before the scheduled test. Refer section on Test Fee Forfeit.
Result / Merit List 2016
The NMIMS will release the Merit List of the NMIMS NMAT 2016-17. The candidates shall use NMIMS Registration ID and the Date of Birth to login and check the Merit List. The candidates can check the NMAT Merit List will be given below.

Your Final score card will include a scaled score for each section, a total score as well as a percentile ranking. The following table lists the range of scores possible on the different sections of the NMAT by GMAC™ exam.

The window wise scores are released 4-5 weeks after you have taken the test and your score card will be updated with scaled scores for all the attempts. You will be notified on email once the score card is available and you can download the score card by logging into your NMAT by GMAC™ account. The final percentile rankings for this year will be calculated after all the candidates have taken their exam(s) and will be announced and updated in your score card on 17 January 2017.
Scaled scores – All of the test forms are equated to account for any differences in overall difficulty and the raw test scores are placed on a common scale. This process ensures that scores are comparable across test forms such that the scores are not impacted by different candidates getting different test forms.
Final Percentile scores – The Final Percentiles for each year are calculated at the end of the year after all candidates have completed taking the NMAT by GMAC™ exam. Your score card and the score card that is sent to schools will be updated with the final percentiles on 17 January 2017.
