Punjab Agricultural University Admission 2016 – PAU Entrance Exams Details about Entrance exam & Admission

The Punjab Agricultural University was established in 1962 to serve the state of erstwhile Punjab. On trifurcation of Punjab in November 1966, Haryana Agricultural University was carved out of PAU by an Act of Parliament in February 1970. Later, in July 1970, Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidalya was established. In 2006 the College of Veterinary Science was upgraded to become Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU) at Ludhiana. Modeled on the pattern of land grant colleges in U.S.A., the PAU performs the integrated functions of teaching, research and extension in agriculture, agricultural engineering, home science and allied disciplines. The University has well equipped laboratories, library and lecture rooms and elaborate farm facilities. Hostel accommodation is available in the university hostels for single students.

Note: For Design Aptitude Test (DAT) the last date for receipt of application form with late fee is 31 May 2016. However, after 13 May 2016 the applicants for DAT will have to submit their application form (available in the prospectus) in the office of Registrar, PAU, Ludhiana 141004 along with bank draft of Rs 4150/- in favor of Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana.

Application Form

Candidates can apply either online or offline as under.

Online Mode

Applicants have to pay Rs. 4400/- for each Entrance Test that includes the cost of downloaded form/Prospectus.

A valid unique e-mail ID is necessary for uploading each application form.

Instruction to fill Application Form

1. A clear and recent passport size coloured photograph with size upto 50 KB in JPG/JPEG format and scanned copy of signature (black/blue) with size up to 50 KB are required for uploading while filling online application form.

2. After completing the application form, the candidate is required to click the ‘SUBMIT’ button.

3. A verification link will be sent to the candidate’s e-mail ID. Candidate has to click on the verification link.

4. After verification, the candidate has to login using his e-mail ID and Date of Birth in order to download/print the application form and the Bank Callahan Form of either Punjab National Bank OR Bank of India. A Unique Identity (UID) number will appear on the top of application form as
well as on the Callahan Form.

5. After taking the printout, the candidate has to visit any branch of the above-mentioned banks with the relevant Callahan Form in order to deposit fee as mentioned on Callahan Form.

6. After depositing the fee, the bank will return two parts of the Callahan Form duly stamped with journal number. The candidate must retain the candidate’s copy of Callahan Form and send the University copy of the Callahan form along with computer generated print-out of application form
duly signed by the candidate and his/her parents/guardian to The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana 141 004 clearly mentioning the name of entrance test on the envelope before the last date of receipt of application forms.

7. No further correspondence will be entertained with respect to the receipt of application forms, etc.

Offline Mode.

8. Applicants have to pay Rs. 3150/- for each Entrance Test in addition to cost of the Prospectus (Rs. 1750/- at the Counter or Rs. 1880 by Post).

9. Prospectus and application form can be obtained from The Additional Director of Communication, Center for Communication and International Linkages, PAU, Ludhiana – 141 004 (near University Gate Number 1) personally on payment of Rs.1595/- in cash at the counter or by post by sending bank draft of Rs. 1750/- in favor of Additional Director of Communication payable at Ludhiana. The name of programme for which the form is required should be mentioned in the request and also at the back of the bank draft.

10. The candidate is required to fill separate application form for each entrance test.

11. All columns in the application form should be filled in and written carefully and legibly by the candidate in his/her own handwriting. Incomplete application form is liable to be rejected.

12. The Entrance Test fee should be deposited in Punjab National Bank or Bank of India, using Callahan Form, available in the PAU Prospectus. The bank will return two parts of the Callahan Form duly stamped with journal number. The candidate must retain the candidate’s copy of Callahan.

13. Form and send the University copy of the Callahan Form along with the duly filled Application Form to ‘The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana – 141004’, on or before the last date of receipt of application form.

13. The candidate seeking admission to M.Tech. Remote Sensing & Geographic Information System and Diploma Course in Hybrid Seed Production Technology are required to submit the following documents along with the application form:-

14. White application form pasted with one latest photograph. Attach one additional photograph with the application form before sending the application form.

15. Self attested copies of all educational certificates and marks sheets including those of qualifying examination issued by the Board/University.

16. Self attested copy of the character certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

17. Self attested copy of the certificate in support of the claim of belonging to scheduled caste/schedule tribes or backward class or to any other reserved category from the competent authority in the prescribed format for the above categories as given in the prospectus.

18. Self attested copy of the residence certificate (as applicable) obtained from the competent authority as given in the prospectus.

19. The completed application form should reach ‘The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana – 141 004’, on or before the last date of receipt of application form.

Admit Card (For Offline / Online Applicants)

The Admit card of the MET has been issued for Physics and Chemistry applicants. The Admit Card can be downloaded by clicking on the link “Download Admit Card”, on the PAU website (www.pau.edu). How to download Admit Card

1. Visit official link provided above to the reach the Admit Card download page.

2. Enter your Date of Birth and Prospectus Number – for offline applicants.

3. Enter the Date of Birth and UID – for online applicants (UID will appear on the top of application form as well as on the Callahan Form).

4. Admit Card will appear on screen, provided all credentials are valid.

5. Save and Print the Admit card to appear in PAU Test 2016.

6. Roll Number List for PAU Test 2016.

Instructions

1. Offline applicants are advised to paste the same photograph on the admit card as pasted on the application form and get it attested from the Principal /Gazetted officer.

2. All applicants must bring a photo ID proof along with downloaded admit card on the examination day, otherwise he/she will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

3. In case any applicant is not able to download his/her admit card, he/she may contact the office of The Registrar, Thapar Hall, PAU, Ludhiana, two days before the date of entrance test along with a copy of application form and original candidate’s copy of Callahan Form and two passport size photographs.

4. No enquiries regarding admit card will be entertained on the day of entrance test.

General Instruction for Entrance Test

1. All Entrance Examinations will start at 10:00 A.M. on prescribed dates. The candidates must reach Center of Examination at 9:00 A.M. sharp.

2. Candidates arriving late by more than half an hour of the start of the examination will not be permitted to appear in the test.

3. Calculator, log tables, pager, mobile phone or any electronic gadget, note book or written notes, pamphlets, slide rules, protractors, rulers, highlighters, dictionary, etc. are not allowed inside the Examination Hall. Any violation would amount to disqualification of candidature.

4. Any candidate, who creates disturbance of any kind during the Test or otherwise misbehaves in or around the Examination Center or changes his/her seat with any candidate will be expelled from the Test.

5. Any candidate having in his/her possession or accessible to him/her papers/books or notes which may possibly be for providing assistance, or copying from any paper/book or note or allowing any other candidate to copy from his/her answer sheet or found writing on any other paper, or using or attempting to use any other unfair means will be expelled from the Test.

6. The decision of the Center Superintendent/Coordinator/Controller of Examinations to expel a candidate from the examination center will be final.

7. If a candidate puts any identification mark on the OMR sheet, the same shall be cancelled. The decision of the Controller of Examinations in this regard will be final.

8. If impersonation in the Entrance Test is detected, the candidature will be cancelled and a case will be registered with the police.

9. Disabled students shall be granted an extra time @ 20 minutes per hour in entrance tests. They have to attach a request while applying for entrance test.

Details regarding results

1. The result is notified by the Registrar and will be displayed on the notice board in Thapar Hall and also on the University website (www.pau.edu).

2. A white application form shall be uploaded by university with the entrance test result on its website (www.pau.edu). The candidate should download this application form and fill it with his/her own hand and bring it at the time of counselling/interview along with all the documents.

3. Candidates called for counselling should reach the venue on the scheduled date and time as per counselling schedule given in the prospectus. No Separate Information will be sent.

4. The university will not pay any TA/DA or other expenses for appearing in the entrance test/ counselling/interview.

5. For the undergraduate programmes, the candidates called for first counselling would be four times the number of seats in the programme.

6. For Masters’ programmes, only those candidates, who obtain 20% marks in the entrance test, will be called for counselling/interview.

7. At the time of counselling, the candidates selected for admission shall be required to deposit the Full Fee immediately On the Spot, failing which the seat will be offered to the next candidate on merit.

Counselling

Third round counseling to fill vacant seats in CET 2016 and DAT 2016 is scheduled to be held on 21 Sep 2016 at 9.00 a.m. (sharp) in the Pal Auditorium, PAU, Ludhiana. Interested candidates, who have appeared in CET 2016 and DAT 2016, are advised to report with all original testimonials and white form along with the requisite fee to be deposited on the spot. Already selected candidates who are interested to shift to any other programme shall bring their selection notice and the requisite fees with them.

Extended First Counseling

Extended 1st counseling to fill following vacant seats in B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science 4-year is scheduled to be held on 20 Jul 2016 at 9.00 a.m. in the Pal Auditorium, PAU, Ludhiana. Below mentioned Ranks of CET 2016, are advised to report with all original testimonials and white form along with the requisite fee.


Third Counseling (CET & DAT)

Third round counseling to fill vacant seats in CET 2016 and DAT 2016 is scheduled to be held on 21 Sep 2016 at 9.00 a.m. (sharp) in the Pal Auditorium, PAU, Ludhiana. Interested candidates, who have appeared in CET 2016 and DAT 2016, are advised to report with all original testimonials and white form along with the requisite fee to be deposited on the spot. Already selected candidates who are interested to shift to any other programme shall bring their selection notice and the requisite fees with them.

Third Counseling (M.Sc./M.Tech)

The counselling to fill the vacant seats including additional seats in M.Sc./M.Tech. programme will be held in the office of the Dean Postgraduate Studies, Thapar Hall, PAU, Ludhiana as per following schedule.


The candidates are required to bring the following documents along with them at the time of Counseling

Candidates, who qualified MET-2016 are advised to bring all original certificates/testimonials and white application form along with requisite fee. List of document given below.

1. White color application form duly filled in (available on PAU website HOME PAGE for online applicants and available in PAU Prospectus for offline applicants).

2. Must bring Residence certificate belong to Punjab/UT, Chandigarh.

3. Reserve category certificate, if any.

4. Annexure C for sports person.

5. Date of birth certificate

6. Detail marks certificate of 12th standard.

7. Character certificate.

8. Full fees as prescribed in the PAU Prospectus 2016-17.

9. Students seeking admission in Sports Quota should report at 9.00 A.M. in the Office of Director, Students Welfare 1 Day prior to date of counseling for Sports Trial.

The candidates declared medically fit by the Chief Medical Officer, PAU, Ludhiana (in whose case this condition has been prescribed) and other candidates should deposit their fees in the office of the Dean, College of Basic Sciences & Humanities, PAU on or before 28 Jul 2016 and present themselves in Director, School of Business Studies, PAU, Ludhiana for advisement and registration on 28 Jul 2016 failing which their selection to the said programme shall stand cancelled.

The candidates are required to submit their two passport size photographs in the office of the Dean, Postgraduate Studies, PAU at the time of their registration.
